Mirrored Dame's Rocket. This image caught my eye as I was backing out of my driveway.

Experimenting further with B&W

Added some grain in post, and a bit gaussian blur. I do like the feeling in this one.
The "colored" original was kind of ...meh

I really like this one as is, especially the Tri-X D-76 grain effect. Glad to see you starting to explore the possibilities of monochrome.

Hopefully this is not out of line. If I was being super super critical I would suggest taking the cloning tool to the more prominent of those white specs next to the girls noses.

Thank you so much <3

It's hard. I mean really hard. A complete universe in it's own regard. But very amusing and fun.
But sometimes frustrating. I think I have to apply "thinking in monochrome" when shooting.
Very inspiring.

E: that's some glitter I think. It's taken on a Pride parade if I recall correctly. I'm a bit unsure, there was a whole lot of festivals i worked at taking photos at that summer.

In that case I would absolutely leave it as is. For whatever reason I was thinking it may have been some artifacts from contrast manipulation.

Yes creating a good B&W image forces you to look at shapes and lighting and contrast while completely ignoring the pretty colours. I believe for most of us, time spent doing B&W pays dividends down the road when we frame that next image. The nice thing about digital imaging is we have it both ways, we can strip out the colours to see just the elements of the image or we can view the same image in glorious Technicolor™.

I finally broke down and got a printer that will print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing).

Best part of the purchase? New box for the cats., of course. That you can hide in and then pounce on an unsuspecting cat walking by. Or a leg of a person. ?
