Inside (and retained-within) the silt-fence bounding our Worksite, an opportunistic imprint of the previous-day's rains upon said silt (captured) impressed me [enough to stop, and save the Moment].

Although this isn't the Photo Association Game thread, the prior picture of a tractor convinced me to upload a picture of the construction machinery being used at a nearby sports complex where I jog during the week after work.

Gone, but not forgotten: the 17-year Cicadas which invaded us so thoroughly a few weeks ago have now already come to the end of their short lives and things are quiet again, we aren't stepping on them everywhere, etc. One day a week or so ago I spotted this wing, completely unattached to whoever had originally used it to get around, just lying on the walk, so picked it up and brought it home to shoot. I stuck it in a small dish and then forgot about it until yesterday, when I ran across it again. Note: for photographic purposes this is larger than life-size! The Cicadas are not THAT big! I'll be shooting it again at another time, as I'm not getting the results I want, as my aim is to be showing off the lovely transparency and sparkle that these wings actually have, but this is a start:

The rest of it was likely eaten by a bird! We just have the dog-day cicadas coming into their own right now. The 13/17 year ones are definitely a plague all on their own. The crazy part is they don’t eat anything. They just come up to mate and lay their eggs on the undersides of small twigs.
