Nice DOFStarting to get the feel of the new (to me) Fujifilm X-T2 / f27 pancake combo. I took it to Dumfries House yesterday & plan to post some from there. But first, this whimsy I shot in the garden this afternoon:

what I like about this is that when you move away further from the image (or make it smaller) it almost appears to be two different worlds, right the shop and left the industrial scaffolding.

I only noticed it when I saw the image as a thumbnail in the "latest media"... It actually is interesting to look at images in different ways to see the quality of the shot. Not the quality of the actual photo like how good was the camera quality but more how good was the thing that was captured... think of why Ansel Adams photos are just good.Wow, I see that now. It's funny, my first edit had a looser crop. The tighter crop does make it like two worlds.
Nice DOF
Your photo will store the settings in the exif data. The photo in question had an aperture of f/4, which is fairly wide open. The wider the aperture (smaller the number since it is a fraction), the more background blur and subject separation you will have in general. I say in general because there are other variables to account for. But that said, if you are just getting used to shooting with some manual controls, you can put your camera in Aperture priority and then dial in f/4 and let the camera decide the ISO and shutter speed. It will give you a bit more control over full auto, but you won't have to worry about all the settings if you aren't comfortable just yet. Many thanks. I'll now have to remember how I achieved that
I'm mostly shooting on auto settings and then risking a bit of twiddling - this one worked ...
