Actually hamming it up...

This really is fantastic lighting, what were you using in this setup if you don't mind sharing.

Like this one...! The specular highlights work well here, and I like the little star of light in the water drop, and the splash... it might have been better without the edge of the pool there.

Thanks, it's actually two pics i photoshopped together. I got a few from the other side too, but light was no where near what it was in these shots. I'll post one tomorrow. :)

Very nice. Great colors, Feels relaxing. :)

Thank you!! I waited a while for just the right moment. Took a bunch of photos and this set looked the best. I need to learn in photoshop how to make the colours a bit more dramatic I sometimes feel that ruins the photo and I tend to think its a little bit of cheating in the photography world but sometimes it makes a huge difference. For now I'll stick to my natural look :)
Thanks again! Means a lot!

Sure thing, here's a diagram from the setup. Lots of fine tuning with light direction and such, but this is a good ballpark.

C&C is much needed.

Well, the viewer might wonder what is was that made you press the shutter... right there, right then. Shallow depth of field can force our attention towards a sharply focused element in a pic, but here the out-of-focus leaves are a bit of a jumble. The eye looks for somewhere to 'land'... but there's no real subject... no real effort to organise the elements in the composition to make visual sense.

i love this shot the blue on the rock(i believe?) makes the color of the butterfly really stand out.

Actually, if I remember correctly, it was the blacktop road at a National Parks Recreational Area. I know the flash fired, and I distinctly remember chasing the butterfly until it landed, and spread it's wings. I know it doesn't look like blacktop, I think the flash changed the colors a tad (okay, more than a tad) and it was shot in .jpg. I still like it though :)
