It was. I'm really not happy with it. It was my first time shooting anything other than watches or the occasional person with a strobe and I didn't have a lot of time to play around and get it set up right. I would have liked, at least, one more light to give the bike a rim light. It's my birthday next weekend and I've got a couple of Yongnuo YN-560 iii strobes coming my way. Looking forward to trying those out.
I'm also annoyed with the big black line on the wall which couldn't be helped because the wall itself was barely bigger than the bike. It's all part of the learning process I guess.
Here's the other shot I got, which I'm also unhappy with.

I'm my own worse audience. You have to be to improve.
I did get some detail shots because my friend wanted a record of the parts he'd manufactured for the bike.

Your owl shot are great! Are you able to identify particular owls?
I saw this 'wayside shrine', sign and cars... and thought this would make a saleable stock shot... on the subject of road safety. Or is it just tacky and tasteless?...

Thanks very much JamesMike.
I tend to revisit certain areas so more often than not, I can identify particular owls. Owls are habitual and very territorial by nature so I often see the same bird in the same area. They also have distinct markings or features that set them apart from each other.
I think I photographed the snowy in the last shot on 4 different occasions.
