Got the kiddo (who's now 3 1/2) a soccer ball. For reference a size 1 soccer ball is about the size of a grapefruit. Shot this with the camera on the ground using a 135mm lens.

A proper football! Hope he enjoyed playing with it. My daughter went through a stage when she would always want a ball when we went out for the day. We bought many!

I just gotta tell you that it was an exciting weekend for me and the missus. On Saturday we went to the grand unveiling and awards ceremony for Canada's Royal Ontario Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017 contest and I took top spot and won the grand prize.

It's all very exciting to receive a very nice prize package that includes a trip to Ecuador and have the Polar Bear image below hanging in the museum for the next there weeks.

I also have to say thanks to @kenoh and award Ken an honourable mention for suggesting a tweak to this image to add a bit more detail around the bear's eye. Thank you Ken! :)

Cheers,
Peter

A very belated congratulations Peter - consistently magnificent work and thoroughly deserved!

I'll admit, I propped up this piece of driftwood (or it might be coral) for the composition.

Like a tree.

I like it. Great job!

Happy Belated Birthday @Hughmac!

Had to be quick as this glasswing butterfly only stopped for some nectar for a few seconds. Taken with Canon 80D with Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 macro. I really love this lens. It's a toss up between this lens and the Lensbaby Sweet 50.

The image I was going to switch out in last weeks "Iron" themed contest, and promptly forgot to do!

A giant 6 metre high sculpture by Lindy Lee, called "Life of Stars," outside of the state Art Gallery, with projections on it. All the projections along the cultural precinct in town were videos telling visual stories. This one, titled "Life of Stars," had this description to it.
Life of Stars is based on the incredible works of renowned Biennale artist Lindy Lee and the processes and themes behind her work.
I really wanted an image here from exact centre, but there was some tottery old guy fussing over his camera and tripod in that spot who didn't budge for the entire couple of hours we were there for! @someoldguy was that you? ;)
