Shot my first roll of portra 800 at the beginning of the year and this week I had 10 rolls arrive from eBay so I am definitely looking forward to the summer (and hopefully some sunny evenings) to use them all up.

It’s a dream for indoors as well with the slower lenses that you ‘kids’ with your new fangled digital cameras won’t be used to! :D

at first I thought it was yours too.

I'm sure you were befuddled at first as to whether you actually snapped that or not :p

I wasn't sure. I have these blackouts and when I come round Lightroom is full of strangers........

Abandoned Mill, Bradford

Another abandoned mill just crying out to be explored.
The only access I could see was through the cellar round the back. It's pitch black down there so I'll have to return with a head torch.
Unusually, this one hasn't got any security guarding it.

Is that the Kodak portra? The 400 NC was my favourite film at uni.

Always go NC, never VC ;)

sleeping lion

Just got home from my San Diego trip. Going to be posting some pics from the zoo and possibly some others. For the zoo pics I was using a Nikon 80-400 which let me get in *really* close for many of the pics.

My Girlfriend reading one of my photography books. If I remember right, this was shot with a Minolta MC/MD 28mm lens on my 550D.

Congratulations, John! I'm so glad things landed the right way up for you both.

Thanks!

Welcome back! Very glad everything is beginning to work out for you.

Thanks, I'm getting a great start here!

Nice to hear from you. That "My GF jumped ship/truck to live in VA" had a bad feel to it, so it's nice that it's working out for you.

Will this new stage gig maybe "steer" you on the "road" to using all that high power audio skill you used to sell to the "street pharmacists" before you decided to go trucking?

BTW: You need to find a new name for your blog.
BTWW: Our lunch chat about racing really got me going last year. I'm working on a 68 Mustang to run in Super Stock. Might even get it done this year.

Dale

Thanks Dale! All of my previous experience is comping together nicely. Just this morning I was offered a position on a tour! It's a not a fancy/braggy job, but it gets my foot in the door at a national company.

Yeah, I gotta work on that name things again, lol. I also need to get some new content up.

I'm good at getting other people to spend money! :p

Tilt-shift shot of Fremont Street East. I didn't like the looks of the negative but changed my tune once I scanned it. To me this image has a real old school Vegas vibe.

I dig it! Wonder if it was the same day I was down there getting high and chasing light... :D

This happened in my sink. Godzilla water.

Fujifilm XE1 with XF35mm

This is pretty cool. Were you just taking random shots, or was there intent behind this?

Sadly the male lion has passed away, so I only had the lady's to shoot.

Nice! I like this one the best.
