I dig it! Wonder if it was the same day I was down there getting high and chasing light... :D

Thanks :)

It was a couple of weeks ago. Let me check the EXIF data... oh wait. ;)

This is pretty cool. Were you just taking random shots, or was there intent behind this?

I just happened to turn the tap on and the water hit a glass in the sink like that. I thought it looked cool so I reached over and grabbed my camera.

Is it just me or does he look depressed?

There is some very inspiring work in this thread. It makes me want to pull out my camera and actually shoot for fun again.

I probably took 200 photos last year. :( Whereas two or three years ago, I was averaging over 6000 photos a year.

Maybe I'll get to posting some here, too. :D

Photo of the Day May 2014

These aren't very good pictures I'm afraid but I thought I'd share it as I found it really fascinating.

If you live in the UK you may have experienced some pretty heavy storms yesterday. I live near Luton and we had a couple of doozies, one after the other. The second one produced some serious rain and hail as well as a lot of thunder and lightning. A sheltered housing facility a couple of miles away from me was hit by lightning and caught fire, resulting in it being evacuated.

The first storm was pretty fierce too but more interestingly it nearly spawned a tornado only about a hundred metres away from my house. I spent ten minutes watching the cloud base rotating and forming a funnel before it, disappointingly, dispersed not far from touching down. I took a few pics of it forming but unfortunately they're not that great. Thought people here might be interested to see it though.

My Girlfriend reading one of my photography books. If I remember right, this was shot with a Minolta MC/MD 28mm lens on my 550D.

Nice shot of a beautiful girl; just a bit sexy without being overt. :)

I have a 28mm Albinar Macro (Minolta MD mount) arriving today; I'll be shooting with it on my Sony, though. I recently purchased 135mm MD lens; I'm loving shooting completely manual again - just the way I was taught/learned (some teaching, but I learned mostly on my own).

Isn't it likely that all zoo animals are depressed? If they were human, we'd call them 'lifers' (I'm not a big fan of zoos )...

Some are better than others. Dudley zoo (my local) is not the best to be honest. They have a very small pond where they used to keep a killer whale in the 60's. It's empty now, but not that big.
However the animals are there, and whether I photograph them or not their day will remain the same. At least my entry fee will help improve facilities (hopefully!).

Does that take an SD or CF card?

Nice capture. I saw a twister once in the UK. I had no camera on me though as it was a fee years ago (pre camera phone days)
