Hello guys, this is a photo I took a while ago but my girlfriends mum has just had the 'back room' in the house decorated, it's like a beach theme. So I did some editing to the photo for the purpose of getting it made into a canvas to put in the newly decorated room! I've never had any pictures made into a canvas so I'm unsure how it will look - just looking for device if you think the editing is appropriate for a canvas? Also if anyone in the UK has a recommendation for a good place for canvases -let me know please! The initial editing was done in Lightroom, then the main effect you see was done in Analogue Effects 2 from Nik!

EDIT! - This was useful posting this here! The white boarder around the image loots great against the dark background of Lightroom, but is totally lost on the white background of the forum! Might have to rethink this one as the walls in the room are white!
I don't know if you calibrate your monitor, but if you don't your canvas may turn out darker than you expected. Default monitor brightness is usually quite high, with the effect that your on-screen picture looks brighter than it should. When you get it printed it will likely be darker than you expected. As the left part of your original picture is already quite dark, you may want to experiment with printing out a smaller version at home before you commit to a canvas.
I have used Boots for canvas prints. They aren't cheap if you have a branch that does a 1 hour turnaround, but they are competitive online. The quality is superb and the frames are very strong. I have left a white border around certain photos before, and it gives a nice natural frame.
BTW - only my opinion, but wouldn't the triptych look better arranged as below? Each section is gradually darker, and the background has a logical flow to it.
hey all
my first editorial photoshoot / photoshop work is live on the cloud (if you can call that acceptable standard of photography work...)
the article is about a resident DJ of 15years in Athens' most popular LGBT club.
The article is in Greek, so just drop in to check out the pics.
