Hello guys, this is a photo I took a while ago but my girlfriends mum has just had the 'back room' in the house decorated, it's like a beach theme. So I did some editing to the photo for the purpose of getting it made into a canvas to put in the newly decorated room! I've never had any pictures made into a canvas so I'm unsure how it will look - just looking for device if you think the editing is appropriate for a canvas? Also if anyone in the UK has a recommendation for a good place for canvases -let me know please! The initial editing was done in Lightroom, then the main effect you see was done in Analogue Effects 2 from Nik!

I don't know if you calibrate your monitor, but if you don't your canvas may turn out darker than you expected. Default monitor brightness is usually quite high, with the effect that your on-screen picture looks brighter than it should. When you get it printed it will likely be darker than you expected. As the left part of your original picture is already quite dark, you may want to experiment with printing out a smaller version at home before you commit to a canvas.
I have used Boots for canvas prints. They aren't cheap if you have a branch that does a 1 hour turnaround, but they are competitive online. The quality is superb and the frames are very strong. I have left a white border around certain photos before, and it gives a nice natural frame.

BTW - only my opinion, but wouldn't the triptych look better arranged as below? Each section is gradually darker, and the background has a logical flow to it.

EDIT! - This was useful posting this here! The white boarder around the image loots great against the dark background of Lightroom, but is totally lost on the white background of the forum! Might have to rethink this one as the walls in the room are white!

Proam has a sister site that does decent quality pretty cheap, if not loxley always a safe (but more expensive) bet

Thanks guys! I will check out the recommendations Apple Fanboy and the TheDrift - it does seem like a bit commitment buying a canvas!

Parkin Pig! Thanks for that advice, I did originally have it like that - but you're probably right, that sequence of images and light to dark makes sense! I will rearrange it. Thanks for the advice on calibration - I just use my Macbook Air, so it's about as far away as you can get from a calibrated photo monitor! I will try some standard prints first to see how they turn out.

Cheers for the help!

Good to see you posting regularly again! Just had to let you know I'm enjoying the latest additions to "Bandcamp." Your sound is coming together nicely, I could easily see "Lets Be Friends" making it to success! Sad thing is that I was a teen for that sort of sound first time round (in the 80's...)

hey all

my first editorial photoshoot / photoshop work is live on the cloud (if you can call that acceptable standard of photography work...)

the article is about a resident DJ of 15years in Athens' most popular LGBT club.

The article is in Greek, so just drop in to check out the pics.

Nice work mate. Congrats. I like the one with the tubular structure.....looks like a pylon or something.

it's a metal contrsuction, supposed to be an installation art piece, it's actually one of two holding the silver ball.

here's also a before and after retouching sample and of the composited one
