Wonderful shot. I've been thinking about trying one of those myself. Won't be as good as that though.

Eye see why you may think that. However, its our job to decide that... have a go!

Cant be much more creepy cool than Schtumple's

Taken after a very rowdy night with a few friends I hadn't seen for a long time. We ended up staying up until the sun rose and getting this hilarious shot!

Hoping to have a few nights like this again soon!

As always, comments appreciated!

The rhubarb I planted a few years ago decided to produce a flower. Snapped it with my iPhone 6 and thought I'd share it here.

As Fanboy said, no need to apologise - the world is there for anyone's take on things. Personally, I prefer your take on this scene over the one I put up. keep them coming!

I would have gone for detail in the clouds but that's just me. Very nice shot. good composition and use of color and contrast.

Dale

I must admit my natural approach would have been for more detail in both cloud and foreground but I thought I'd try for something different. In the end I probably ended up with a half-way house. My thanks for the feedback.

Ha, it's interesting, because one of the things I was experimenting with this shoot was doing exactly this. Having a composition with something in the foreground or side to draw interest. Most of the time, it usually took away from the shot, as it was unclear what you were supposed to focus on. For some reason, I really liked this one though, with that gnarled branch reaching out towards the mountains.

It's really interesting how moving or turning just a bit can really alter the composition of your shot. That's what I was trying to explore, to help improve my "photographic vision." Here's the shot where I shifted over so the branch can't be seen. Has quite a different feel to me. I think this one would be much better if I had less of the flat foreground in it.

I'll start another thread with some other examples, I'm curious to hear what people think.

Lovely scenery. But my focus is drawn to the big branch on the right side.

Maybe thanks would be a better term . I'd been wanting to get over to try my hand at that location since you posted your take on it . So today , on the spur of the moment I decided to go over to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden , and took a detour on my way back . I had a Voightlander 15/4.5 screwmount with me that I got in the bad old days of film and just began re-using on my M9 a few months back . Thought I'd try it at the pilings/lower Manhattan viewpoint , but it didn't work the way I'd wanted .Afterward , I took some time to wander around . I was appalled at the construction that's going on , hadn't been on the waterfront for about 18 months or so , all the old warehouses between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges seem to be getting converted to retail/residential uses ,(OBoy , another Starbucks and more unaffordable housing) stuff going on under the Manhattan Bridge took out a small beach area that had some pilings and other 'post industrial artifacts' .Time goes on , things change , and I'm turning into a curmudgeon .
