Taken after a very rowdy night with a few friends I hadn't seen for a long time. We ended up staying up until the sun rose and getting this hilarious shot!

Hoping to have a few nights like this again soon!

As always, comments appreciated!

Do your parents know what you're up to Archie? Last time I pulled an all nighter it wasn't out of choice...it was directly related to preparing for a colonoscopy.

Oh...to be young again. :)

Been too busy to take any photos the last few days so here's one I took when I was trying out my teleconvertor on my XE1 with my Nokton 50mm.

My helicoid adapter turned up yesterday after an interminable wait and it was faulty :( Had terrible veiling flare issues so the seller is swapping it out for another one. God knows how long I'll have to wait for the replacement as it took nearly two weeks for it to be shipped "from the UK".

Wow! very nice image. I really like the tones. I want to be able to take shots like that with a black background. I assume this is done using speedlite mastery skills with sync and speed settings creativity?

It was Ken. One bare strobe off to the right, fairly close and shot at about F11 in a fairly dingy room at ISO200 and 1/125. Strobe was on about 1/4 power I think.

You should give it a go, it's really easy to do.

I am going to. Just got to get kids to give in and go to sleep... And i will have a bash at that.

Wanted to do that for a while but found a site that made it sound too complex...

It's not at all. Do what I described and you'll find it a doddle. Select your aperture, ISO and shutter speed and take the shot without a strobe until you just get nothing but black (adjusting the aperture until that happens) and then add the strobe until you get the exposure you want.

A new day, a new animal. I love a lion, and being this close was awesome.

Comments always welcome.

This was taken at Nairobi National Park which is between the international airport and Nairobi city. Please excuse the quality it was scan of an old print.

Someone gets intrigued/distracted by trees and tree branches. In this case, to the right of the frame.
