Sometimes when I see your flower pictures I think I should stop taking any!
You’re sweet. This was my half of my monthly diptych projectSometimes when I see your flower pictures I think I should stop taking any!
I also saw a tiger swallowtail on my lilac a few weeks ago. Couldn't get a good photo, he was too high up. I've even seen a monarch pass through. Not much for food around here yet, so I guess they've moved on.As fast as I grabbed the camera he/she was gone (so no time to get the perfect shot or change the lens). A butterfly on a Lilac bloom in our yard:

Come August-September, butterflies will likely be a good deal of my posts. We've had a good spring so far, so maybe we'll see them earlier if the flowers can catch up. I planted more zinnas this time, and also found some lantana, so I'm trying to set the table!I was actually able to get a couple of other shots, but he/she was under the bloom (ie in the shade) and they did not turn out well. I am just glad I got one good(ish) shot.
Also, I will not pretend to know the difference between a swallowtail and a monarch because when I do my wife corrects me (100% of the time).
I planted zinnias from seed this year and barely have any sprouts! I started them outdoors this year, whereas last year I started them inside around February. Hmm. I let the kids help, so I can't say I tried very hard! I did try to time it just before a rainy week, but I think we just have favorable zinnia conditions here. The folks that do the garden behind the house just dump the seeds and leave it at that. They end up with a bumper crop every year!I planted zinnias from seed this year and barely have any sprouts! Thanks..... I always look forward to my annual trek to Presby . They've got thousands ( literally) of colors and patterns on display , makes the 20 or so I've got in my yard look sorry.A colour I have not seen here on my walks. For, and from me ... a big "Wow"!!
Just think of all the meaningful stuff on the news and the internet you didn't miss out on!Been incommunicado the last few days . No phone , no internet , no TV . Feel much better !

I'd rather concentrate on all the brain cells that are still among the living by virtue of ignoring all the 'meaningful stuff'Just think of all the meaningful stuff on the news and the internet you didn't miss out on!
Absolutely. MR is about the extent of my online time outside of work these days. Much happier out in the garden (weather permitting).I'd rather concentrate on all the brain cells that are still among the living by virtue of ignoring all the 'meaningful stuff'
Beautiful colours. The little quacker from the other day, again.
