Swallows are around here building their mud nests under highway overpasses, and it's great to see this shot of what they're gathering to do it (and a great shot it is by the way). In a few weeks, here in Denver anyway, they'll have fledged chicks who will be sitting on the ends of reeds around local lakes getting fed by their parents. It's a bit "dive bomb". It's a great and fascinating spectacle.Nest material

Ha! Yes, the Stanley Hotel that's just up the road in a small town called Estes Park. Fun place to stay and Denver is fun to visit. It's a "Cow Town" as they say here in the states, but I love it.Beautiful! (I always think of the movie "The Shining" whenever I hear or see anything with "Denver"
I would love to visit sometime. It's on my to-do-list![]()
Perfectly captured image! It "says it all".
Thanks! It was really tough exposing that shot, with the harsh light. Took quite a bit of shadow recovery! Yes, they are fascinating little birds. They absolutely line the bridges over the Missouri river here. Minimal predator issues, and probably an endless buffet of tasty bugs.Swallows are around here building their mud nests under highway overpasses, and it's great to see this shot of what they're gathering to do it (and a great shot it is by the way).
