Nice. Whereabouts is this.

Btw you can always add a photo to a previous post by pressing edit, then go advanced. Then just add in your normal way. Or use a photo hosting site like Flickr if you want to post bigger shots.

With the bright sun and dark landscape, I'd probably thought about bracketing this shot.

Thanks - location is just outside Wrexham in North East Wales. Took a few others that I will see about posting. Just trying to get the hang of an ND filter and the right amount of water blur.

Just started to use ND filters my self (Hoya). Gives you a few more strings to your bow doesn't it.
Wrexhams about 1 hour 50 from here. A bit too far for my normal photography days out.

This footbridge has a really cool design and form to it, the lighting at night however, is a monumental failure and makes it look really tacky, like something from Macau that would shuttle punters from a brothel to a casino...

I've been in overdrive tbh

hardly any snaps as of late, but this will change soon enough :D, that's a promise, or threat, or omen. you choose

55k cycle today. We were able to cycle across the Harbour Bridge as they closed off two lanes for us. Really fun cycle. Definitely doing it again next year.

Correct! This is "Eagle Rock". Got up at 3am and trekked through the darkness to get here for sunrise. We lost the path a few times on the way. It is truly a great feeling being away from any trace of civilisation.

Oh wow that's trippy, I didn't realise you were in Australia and for some reason I thought there was an Eagle Rock in the Blue Mountains but I just checked it on google earth and I see it's on the coast track. Yes I've seen that rock, during a 3 day walk from Bundeena to Otford, via Garie, Era, and Burning Palms. It's a fantastic walk. There were red deer last time I was there but they might not be there any longer.

Here's my gf on a cliff edge on The Great Ocean Road, I don't have the original so this is a copy of an R3 ektachrome print I did.

The valley is called Plas Power and has a few industrial artefacts including one of the earliest iron works of the Industrial Revolution. Could combine the trip with a shopping expedition to Chester if an excuse needed....

An abandoned building near where I shot the photo of the power plant in Providence. This building was also part of the electric company, but out of the frame to the right of my previous shot.

I'm heading to South Wales myself next week and planning to get exactly that kind of shot, as the place I'm staying in has a little rocky river running through the grounds. Got myself a variable ND filter to try and capture it but as I've never used one before it'll probably be horrible. Particularly with the fifty mph winds forecast.

That's a great shot. Love it.

Welsh water

Another Autumnal shot using ND filter from Plas Power. Comments always appreciated.

Nicely done, looks great on my retina screen.

Here's one of those 'decisive moment' shots.

.

Many thanks - I must admit I was pleased with the depth of field and overall clarity....this tripod stuff actually seems to work!

Wind was a bit gusty but the shelter of the valley gave a bit of protection. I found it a little tricky not to 'over cook' the moving water but I suppose that' said matter of taste. Could have also done with a gradient ND to help with the high contrast sky & valley shadow. Good luck - always look forward to your postings.
