Samara is the horticultural term. Maples are most well known for them, but some other trees also have them, like ash.looks like a maple seed, aka helicopters 🚁
We used to call them "Whirlybirds" when I was a kid (many moons ago). Maple seeds. One of those flying seed pods (sorry don’t know the name!). I haven’t used macro on my 13 Pro in a while. View attachment 2104183
Very nice shot.
I'm going to check that out next week...might be way too enticing for the simpleness of choosing. Just some low spec'd old DSLR would be enough for me.Thank you for the kind words. I was looking into IR conversions and found that they run about $275. Choosing between classic b/w or color.
Aha! Thanks! I'll check out the differences, and choose from that reference. Although I think I want the 720nm. I like the dramatic effect it has.My Nikon D70 is 720nm, but the Panasonic G1 that particular photo was taken with was 590nm, hence the ‘goldie’ effect.
Thanks for your kind comments on my photo upload of today
Cheers
Hugh
Interesting you commented. I was just looking at IR Conversion sites. There is a Full Spectrum conversion that requires use of on lens filters (additional cost). Allowing a selection of different (nm) options.I'm going to check that out next week...might be way too enticing for the simpleness of choosing. Just some low spec'd old DSLR would be enough for me.
Is this tilt-shift? I think only the space shuttle is in focus. Kinda dreamy looking this photo.
