I look forward to driving that Million Dollar Highway one day.

Attended a Cars & Coffee in Great Falls, VA this morning and this vehicle, a 1959 Citreon 2CV, drew quite a crowd when it pulled in. In many ways the best part of this experience was talking to the French owner and his family and friends. They answered our numerous questions and in general were a delight to talk to. Of course they had that certain je ne sais quoi that marked them as French. :)

Learned that the Citreon 2CV and the Volkswagen Beetle had a tremendous number of things in common (designed in the 30's, a car for the common person, air-cooled engine, mass produced from the '40s to the '90s). You certainly don't see these cars in the US very often (if at all).

On this side of the pond you see that 2CV often. And you can a rent one. Or 12. Watch this fun video, autoplayed on this Belgium site:

There's one of these near my place. Seems to be used a lot as I've seen it driving about.

Reminds me of my younger years where I had some 2CV model cars.

So yesterday I went to pick up some peanuts for one of my feeders. I was at a store I used to frequent regularly, but living circumstances changed and I hadn’t been in years.

They have a big wall mounted TV on which there is a constant rotation of bird pics displayed. At one time I had given them a bunch of my bird pics. These were early ones, when I was still getting used to shooting at the new feeders. And they were still up on the screen, years later! So I thought I’d post one today.

My best one of the series was of a blue jay, but I’ve already posted so many of those, here’s a white-breasted nuthatch instead:
