Someoldguy - captures the desolation of these desert places beautifully. Composition somewhat reminded me of this pano from the Grand Canyon from 2007 on my Canon 30D. Comments always welcomed.

Thanks ...I visited the Grand Canyon about a year and a half back , and when I visited Canyonlands/DHP I was struck by the similarity of the views ; very different than the green, generally rounded over landscapes of the East Coast.

Mesa Arch . The iconic shot of this is done at sunrise . By someone else . This was taken at around 9:30 AM , still has a bit of the sunlight reflection on the underside of the arch . The arch itself is much smaller than I'd thought it was , only 70-80 feet side to side . Only problem is there's people around who won't get out of the way , so you have to wait until they're done posing , or fall into the abyss , before you can shoot .

Nothing unusual (for me) done in processing this shot...there was a light mist coming off the water.

Was scouting out a new location (Slater Mill in Pawtucket, RI) after seeing an amazing photo taken there. Wasn't able to capture the same composition (I think the area where the photographer shot from is currently cordoned off due to construction). But snapped this while I was there. Not of the mill obviously, but taken at the site.

The motherboard from one of the first computers I built. This machine was a beast back in the day! Dual AMD Athlon MP CPUs, I think it rocked a GeForce 3 graphics card. Yeah, it was awesome.

Photo and geology lesson in one. Nice.

Have you set up a light in there? Or was that already there? Anyway I like it.

I can't help it! haha. I don't have a geologist "off" switch. In fact, most of my photos are of rocks, and if people are in them it's usually just for scale.

I am also a professional videographer, filming weddings, school concerts, sports events etc and have no idea about it.

That is a gorgeous image and would be an absolute cracker to play with in B&W, even just using the simple B&W colour controls within Aperture or Lightroom would do some cool things to that green of the seaweed! Well done, Melizard.
