Trying out new lens...
AF Nikkor 70-210mm f/4-5.6
It's a bit long (focal length) but it's a bit of a cracker.
I bought it to photograph a social distancing choir but the job was cancelled.
Oh well.

Guess this is the last of the Dahlias for this year ...
I'll throw in another image captured at the old windmill on the wombat sanctuary on the Sunday night that I was there, same windmill as the previous share by me, just captured from further away, so it has a more realistic perspective, that last image was deliberately captured up close and tight in looking up so as to make it appear taller than it actually is.
@anotherscotsman is one of the two hazy appearances above my light orb what you captured and shared with us recently?
This is a very dark scene, with only the light orb I threw providing any immediate illumination during the thirty seconds of the shutter opening. I do have an image where I threw light on the windmill and I'll play with merging that with this one, so it is not quite so noisy and dark, but, yet again I find myself time poor and about to rush out the door after my coffee and morning cuddles time with the Boof!

That’s a lovely test shot. I definitely have that lens on my gimme list, though it does seem to be perpetually out of stock (not that I’ve looked recently).

I got to visit the notorious Kanyaka Station ruins last Thursday just before sunset. Because time was severely tight, I decided to fly the drone around for this first visit to capture still images as quickly as possible. I will be back again soon and will allow a half day to thoroughly explore the site.
Yes, first throw of the night, then the AF kicked in somehow for all the shots after, even though the camera body was set to MF! Have to look into that now that I remember it. The remaining shots had the windmill only in focus, not beyond and not me spinning the orbs! 🤔

One of the many varieties of the ginger flower.
I rented it to try out for a week and am impressed. Mostly my worry was how it would feel and balance on the Z6 and how the Z6 would handle focus. And I have to say, every shot was in focus and the only flaws where my error and not the gears.
Was overcast with rain clouds on the drive out to the Wetlands Park and almost turned back. Ultimately rewarded with the...but glad I packed an umbrella and waterproof bag for camera/lens with passing downpour at the furthest out along the 2.5 mile trail.
I’m glad, just this once, you bothered to use your skill with a real camera and lens rather than all that fancy CGI you’re always spending hours over to impress us.

I saw some of the CGI posts but there must have been more that I missed. Bummed I missed the extra drama! 😂 And I guess I missed cleanup on another thread.... I think the pandemic is getting to people because the photo boards seem to have some extra something lately that we didn't used to have. 🙁
ETA: I figured out what other thread was reorganized..... strange.
The thing to do when we see a thread that seems to be going sideways, with snarky comments or actual harassment of another member, is to immediately send a report to the moderating team and let them do their thing. Certainly those posts about CGI were harassment, no two ways about it. Good that they were removed!
