I don't think he could, he'd have to contact NASA :D

Probably obeygiant didn't realize this forum is for posting our own photos (not those of others). In any case I did like it, as I used to do prime-focus astrophotogaphy (through telescopes) so it brings back memories.

The ridge was long, the light diffuse. I climbed a big rock and looked down.

Wow. I love the tone of this one. Well done sir.
Thanks! Wish I had taken some of the pics in the link, especially Liyu Lake! Taroko is located just north of Hualien on the eastern (rugged mountainous) side of Taiwan. It's a different world on the eastern side.

Nice spot/picture. It's a marble canyon? I think I read about that place when researching places to teach. I almost went to Taiwan.

Yes correct! You can see the marble in the overlook picture (thumbnail). The link I posted provides additional information about the geology of the canyon. A Google search on keyword "taroko" turns up a lot of hits as well.

A word about your Lichen Rock... I would expect the rock itself to be colorful if it's covered with lichen. Although the B&W picture is pleasing, would the color version have been more so?

Great shot Abstract! B&W fit it perfectly.

I just got my first roll of film taken with my Canon FT QL 35mm back today. I'm amazed with the results...just wish I had used some ISO 100 or 200 instead of the 400 I had.

Thanks! I took it this summer in a small town in the Alps called Heiligenblut.

Seenew, I love your shouty portrait. Was it taken upside down, just out of interest?

Here's one I took last weekend — it's not the best technically, but I loved the look of this guy shooting away at an arcade while his baby looked on.

Hey,

Just thought i'd post this, from a recent holiday in Gran Canaria.

Not too clear but i kinda like it anyway, really need to get round to cropping that bottom bit off though! :(

Edit: cropped the 'bottom' and updated.

Actually, the lichen on that rock is grey, so... I think maybe the shot is more about texture and pattern, etc. Sometimes a picture is more evocative if something is left to the imagination. ;)

Also, I've got a color shot from the same location (sans lichen) in the works, so...maybe I'll post it soon.
