There was sporadic rain and hail falling in the distance (over downtown Toronto), and about 2 minutes after taking this photo, it hit my location. I ran for cover and eventually hid inside a port-o-potty until it passed

I might have done with a little less DOF, so the great background coloured leaves would have been less visible. Now they distract a little from the needles in the front.

Strange that noone has commented, or perhaps everybody just loves it !
I love the pic as well, the face against a dark background is great. And, him looking away really nails it for me. I would have liked to see his whole head, though, so tilting the camera might have been an option as well.

Wow! Excellent shot, I really like the use of B&W in this one too.VictorM said:

freebooter said:Good one. Very nice composition. I like the castle shots. I've never seen one in person, so they are kind of fictional in my mind. It's hard for me to fully grasp that real, living people actually built those things and used them for practical purposes.
Anyhow, if I can make a photographic suggestion, it might be to clone out the metal railing around the parapet. (too modern; spoils my fairytale )

But I'm curious to know what the original looked like.

almost exactly as-shot. reduced exposure slight, fixed white balance and reduced saturation, very slightly.
I like the b/w better, too.BudhaNl said:The B/W is so much better, great choice!
