Just a typical time lapse over a highway, nothing special. I'm just a big fan of these shots and I finally did one myself, not very impressed with it though. Can someone give some pointers for this type of shot? I think the aperture was not set right...

I would shoot at f/22 or higher to make sure it's all in focus, a low ISO (100) for less grain, and thus a longer exposure, maybe 30 seconds. Tilting the camera can add interest to a tired shot, too.
I agree though, these are fun to do, even when it's nothing special. Just cool to see the world in a different way. Same thing with ultra fast shutter (1/4000th).

Foggy Trail: Final Ascent

This is where the ridge trail heads up for the last time before reaching the top. Now, a month later, these trees are fully leafed out.

I've got 3 of these photo's and I think this might be the best out of them. Not sure though as they're different shutter speeds and such. Will probably end up posting another one over time. :)

I've always wondered how do you get the star-shaped glows on a light source, does it have to do with the aperture setting/aperture blades? I always seem to be getting random results when trying this.

Well, this is my first post of a picture in this thread.

Sun on the Sweetgum Tree

jayb2000: I loved your "Red and Green" photo. The splash of water coming off the cardinal's feet as he flies away is just great.

Today's photo is the evening sun shining through my sweetgum tree's leaves.

Thanks for the picture.
I like it because it reminds me of Canada, my homeland, a place I miss. Where was your picture taken?

(I bet there are some sweet trout in that lake)

Hey Freebooter,

It IS Canada as a matter of fact. A small lake about 1 hour outside of Vancouver!

And yes, there are trout there.

:D
