No EXIF Data. I wasn't using my camera that night, so this picture, along with all the others from that night were uploaded straight to the site at work.

I'll probably have to edit this one again since if you look close at the head in a bigger resolution you can see it's a little blurry. (Because I had to photoshop out a wire)

Fountains Abbey

Had a wander round Fountains Abbey over the weekend.

That's a little too photoshop-heavy for me.

edit: here's mine for today. Haven't printed it yet, but here's a scan from a 35mm contact sheet.

That's a sweet technique you used there freebooter. Could you describe in 'noob' language your post processing in Photoshop. I'm trying to learn the program and am curious as to what technique/tools you used. Surely you didn't erase through a black and white layer to get the color of each leaf?

Second day out with XTi

The second day out provided no better lighting than the first, and to add injury to insult, the hibiscus flowers closed up. It actually started raining so i ran under the screen porch and shot this:

Nice. I take it it's a double exposure, but it's still a mystery to me how you actually did it and got everything to line up.

Oh the magical things you learn at SCAD. :p

First post

I just bought a D50 a few days ago. I have been looking at everyone's pictures here daily at work. I love them all. I figured I'd contribute too. I'm no where near as talented as a lot of people here. But i think i've gotten better over the past few months.

Here's a shot I took while walking around in Boston Commons yesterday. I have a version in black and white too which looks great because i really love the branch structure of the tree in the middle, but the colors are great too.

Would this have been better if I had placed the snail on the bottom right? For some reason I keep thinking of the shell as an eye and having it face the shorter side of the picture is annoying me.
