digital photo of original silver gelatin print
taken with my Holga, so the approximate exif is:
1/100s @ f/8, about 60mm, Kodak 120 T-Max 400 B&W film

printed on Ilford fiber paper, matte finish, with a #1 Filter to reduce contrast (negative was a bit blown out), edges burned in a bit. 9x9"

This tree was massive, i had to stand well back to fit it in. not sure i quite captured the feeling of size it had but i liked the result none the less.

Just a thought. Should we make a new Picture of the Day thread and archive one every year? Just a thought so that "older" pictures that you post can be found, as I don't think many people still go back to the older pages of this thread (e.g. Page 154) and look at the photo's there. :)

Behind the lens
This was my favorite shot from my trip to the Deerfield, MA Butterfly Garden.

I didnt have my flash so I borrowed a really nice one from a Nikon D50. Most of my shots that day were really high contrast or a little blown out from the flash just firing with no "brain".

Thanks!
There's really not too much to buy if you're using someone else's darkroom (like I am SCAD's :p). Paper is what starts to add up. 50 sheets of 11x14 is $100, after the student discount!

That's some nice colours there!

Is that taken with the VR version of the 105mm? I've just picked up that lens, hoping I can take something as nice as that....

thanks! yes it is the VR. I just got mine also, last weekend in fact. So I've spent several days running around taking close-up shots of everything in order to get some practice :) I will torment you all with those photos soon :p
