I was going for the Sin City atmosphere. This picture was taken from a a friend's apartment building rooftop, located on 58th street. It was weird... Just as I got up to the roof with my tripod, it started to rain a bit, but the cloud cover and all the lights looked too cool to pass up, so I got a bunch of trash bags and made myself a little tent!

Having fun with a new lens. So far, just "handheld" macro, as my $25 tripod is too much junk for anything beyond the occasional lightning shot :p .

hitting the brakes

I wanted to pronounce the contrast between the spray of this surfer's bottom turn and the background soup... it's a little dark in the water, I know. Is it too dark? How does it look as a composition? I'd love some advice/opinions on this one...
