Nice picture. They put on a pretty good show! Being in the job that I am, I'm allowed to get some close up shots :)

I found this cute one last Sunday. I had never seen this kind of ladybug before. Red, orange, spotted, unspotted, but never caramel colored.

Thanks :D They really do put on an awesome show. I got a bunch more pics so I'll be posting them for the next few days. :)

@Freebooter's caramel coloured ladybug: Really like this shot, i've been experimenting with just having the subject there and the rest black, the effect looks great.

@epicwelshman's MacDonald Bridge: Seconded, beautiful. Is it one shot or HDR?

Yellowjackets

These yellowjackets [Edit: BEES] seem to be the only visitors to my hummingbird feeders.
No hummingbirds since early in the season. Maybe it's the drought.

Monday June 25: Thank you JahJah for pointing out that these are happy bees, not yellowjackets! They may both sting, but I'd much rather have bees around!

I'm pretty certain those are honey bees, not yellow jackets. This is coming from someone who is freaking scared out of his mind by anything that flies and looks like it might potentially have a stinger....
