Thanks for the link - a real interesting read. The cliff art definitely is Our Lady of Guadalupe - still a culturally derived depiction of the virgin Mary.I think I see agave leaves at her feet, so that means it is probably Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Great shot because it really evokes a sense of her appearance as an apparition to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin.
Thank you!Plymouthbreezer, a nice B/W portrait. I like the softness, yet great detail. Only thing is, since you included a lot of the subjects upper body, I wish you would have not cropped the top of his hair... still, a very nice shot.
ps: Thanks in a big way to those who have recently commented on my pix.
also: epicwelshman, I really like your "Thistle and bee". It's just right.
Thanks!
I was wondering about your off-camera flash. You have a D40, so was it wireless somehow, or wired off-camera? I have an SB-600 and I really want to get that sucker off-camera!
Makes me miss the midwest... nice shot!Thistle and bee
I think it's because the web only uses a limited number of colors as opposed to your image's color profile. Don't know why.and BTW does anyone know why the colors are less saturated? Is it ImageShack itself or is it just the web browser or something?
Its not that good, but this was the first day i've had my camera! What do you guys think? The plane isn't completely focused.

I didn't take it from a plane, I went to the top of the parking garage at the airport and took it from there. I was using a nikon 55-200mm(I got the kit that came with two lenses and dvds and a bunch of stuff). How are you liking your D40?The plane looks pretty sharp from the pic you posted (at full res it may be noticeable). It could have just been the blur from the plane moving or the window if took it from a plane (I just tried a couple of days ago and none of the pics were sharp) , not necessarily the focusing itself. And what lens are you using btw (just wondering because I just got the D 40 a couple weeks ago)
Thanks, glad you liked it.iBlue
