Love this picture picture with the selective focus and painted colors, the type of photo I have been working at this spring and summer, really nice.

Was this the 200 2.0 VR or your 18 - 200? Do you have an non-cropped version? I like the yellow throat, and think this could easily have gone in the "yellow" thread.

they have one actually they saw the pic at my cousin's house after the wedding when i was showing my images. and they asked me to get a copy for them, so i mailed them a print when i got back home to california

I love that picture. Can I ask a n00b question? Is the color accenting something you do in postprocessing, like color replacement in Photoshop? My Canon S2 IS had a color accent and replacement program which I really liked, but since my 350D doesn't have it, I assume this is something people do in postprocessing.

He could answer better, but I'm pretty sure it was PP. In photoshop an easy way to do it is make a layer, de-saturate it, then erase off where you want the color to come through.

Yes his statement was correct, I did the conversion in photoshop. What i did was make a copy of the background layer, and converted it to grayscale. I then made a mask on this layer and brushed away the area of the camera to bring the color back in.

Actually it was shot with a Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4... guess I forgot to put that in the post. Working with the depth of field on this macro lens is a bit of a challenge and I really should have had the camera on a tripod. I did crop it lightly, as there was a distracting bit on the left side, part of one of the petals, and I decided that the image looked better cropped than uncropped.

That's a thought, putting it in the "yellow" thread, but I am sure that I'll be coming up with something which is more predominantly yellow....

My brother was the skiier praticing his rail a good four-five months before the ski season begins. I didn't like shooting into the sun, but I wanted to shoot the front of the body and didn't want to move the other direction. Guess I'll have him do this again in the mid-morning
