Haha, yeah, that bee was kind of faded. It's weird though, because I thought I saw some bees today that were slightly green, and thought it must be a fly until I stooped down to the flowers a little bit more.

Anyway, thought about posting something else, but I'm going to post another photo with a more obvious bee (it's a different day now in my time zone). ;)

More Bees, photo taken yesterday. I used my Nikon D50 and my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 macro for this one as well. I cropped a bit, but mostly to get rid of another flower that was distracting.

Bees & Flowers

While on the topic of bees and such... I snapped this last fall, and it's one of my favourite images from the series. There was a bed of small wildflowers near my cottage and bees made their way through the field all day long, so it was easy for me to just sit there and wait for the next shot.

My mom took me out for lunch at my favorite restaurant "Marathon" there souvlaki is amazing! The price is great too. You get a drink, rice, fries, salad and chicken for $8.

At first I thought it looked like a wheezing cat, but now I think it's a cat dancing on a fence.

Vast aerial armadas of large dragonflies congregate near the tops of the local peaks, efficiently decimating the clouds of smaller flying insects that meet up there to mate. I was out for a long, late afternoon run one very hot, humid Sunday (37 C), and just had to stop to try to capture the sight of so many bugs silhouetted against the towering cumulus with large crepuscular rays shooting out.

I do like the one to the right. It has a sense of eternity to it.

Well this cemetary had more grave markers than I have ever seen. It is a cemetary for veterans and their spouses. It really was like an eternity of markers. Sad yet beautiful all at the same time. So many people that died for this country are buried there and I have never seen anyone in there.

And thank you very much.
