Thanks for the comments everyone.

That is a nice one. It reminds me of when I shot Kodachrome many moons ago.

Just by way of suggestion, not criticism, a little P.S. would make it even more unreal, i think. What I'm thinking about is cloning out that square metal plate in the grass at the base of the stairs and that bit of magenta cloud over by the blue roof at the left edge. I may be wrong but they don't seem to be needed for the composition, and serve to remind the viewer of the mundane.

That's a good idea, definitely about the clouds. I'll have a shot and see if my cloning skills are up to it. :D

I love your garlic shot by the way, it's beautiful.

depth of field on this one is a bit shallow (f/1.4), but this little guy really caught me off guard...

I'll let you know when i try one. I know that the bean paste is...a heavy, rich taste. I'll try one on Monday and get back to you. I'll need a black coffee in hand to wash it down, I pretty sure.

Re: Bait theif
I love that shot. The bird looks like it could peck your brain out.

Re: Karpfish
Nice dog. Looks friendly.
(psst...check the "rules" at the start of the thread about one-pic-a-day.)

Is that supposed to be a self-portrait freebooter. At last we get to see what you look like!:) :D

No but seriously, very interesting pic. On the border to abstract, but then again you can tell what it is. I especially like the juxtaposition of the shiny, metallic reflection and the faded, rusted building in the middle.

Thanks. Yes that's me alright, and my clone on the left. (Not being fond of "photographer-in-the-mirror" shots, I was going to "clone" us out, but...too lazy.) We had just picked up a bottle of wine at Debec on our way home from the Apple Center downtown where, "Lo!" the new iPods were in stock. An 8 GB black Nano now lives at freebooter estates. Likin' it. Best iPod yet--solid like the mini, small like my 1st gen. Nano.

Hey Gary, a great shot. You know that this is a shot to be proud of.

Got the email about the move, hope all is going well on that. Just to let you know that you both are still deep in my thoughts.

WOW! As some may have noticed, I love "owning" some of the images posted here. This is one of them, though I wonder what print size might do justice.

Some might feel that it is a bit wide. But even cropped down I think it might work.
