I need longer weekends so I can drink more beers. Just a sampling of what I have enjoyed since Friday. Epic Brewing Big Bad Baptist. I may have posted this one before, but it is an excellent stout. Prepping foods for the smoker today, enjoyed a 4 pack of Skull Splitter from The Orkney Brewery - love this stuff. Once the mini meat loaves were done and plated with some potoato's and asparagus that my wife made, I paired it up with Samuel Smith's Yorkshire Stingo. Simply amazing weekend, and finishing it off with a Boylevard Collaboration No. 6, but I didnt take a pic after the pour

Sounds as though it was a terrific week-end - glad you enjoyed it - and the beers look positively mouth-watering.

It's interesting because within the last 2 or so years, can releases have become a huge deal in craft beer, where usually you were getting a bomber (22 oz bottle) or larger bottles depending on the beer, or your typical 6 pack of 12/16 oz bottles. I've been lucky enough to be within vicinity to 2 great breweries: Mumford in Downtown LA, and The Bruery/Offshoot in Orange County. They are about to have a can release this week, and I cannot wait to pick it up!

The Bruery is one of my favorite brewers at the moment. Really enjoy Melange No 3, and I'm hoping I can get my hands on their Mash & Coconut release out here in Virginia

Okay. That is a development I am as yet unaware of.....as here, the best of the beers in cans are - or tend to be - (often quite good) session beers.

Our Mellow Mushroom just last week had a couple of beers from The Bruery, I think I had one on deck to try but decided to wait till next visit. The local MM has like 60 beers on draft, great happy hour, solid food, it's a pretty regular stop for us - and now there's a new microbrewery right next door (that I need to get back to for a growler refill )

With offerings from Cigar City, I hope! :)

Yes, something Cigar City is always on the beer menu. :) One of our local favorites, a BBQ joint called Mojos, also always has Jai Alai, on tap, that's one of our "go to" beers (and one I had in mind when I said there are awesome options in cans only).

I recently picked up a Marshal Zhukov’s Stout from CC (22oz bottle), wow, it was a winner (forgot to shoot a photo).

Next time I am in Valrico visiting the in-laws, I'm going to have to check this place out.

Can't find it on their canning list. But they are *close* by. I think a growler jug fill is in order this weekend.

it does look good... or intriguing at least...
Yeah, I'm in LAC, not LA proper. The drive is actually short. I couldn't make it yesterday as I was busy, but I'll probably go next week. If they don't have it for sale, that's fine. They offer growler bottles, and I'm more than fine with that for good beer. There's a few places near us that are closer and do fantastic house beers in growlers. You do pay a deposit for the growler, but it's not a big deal.

Regardless, I'm thankful for the new wave of beer that's graced our land in the last nine years. Much like a good book, so much and so little time. :(
