Been meaning to take a better picture of my bike for a while so I could post it here but still haven't got around to it so here goes

Bianchi 928 B4P 09 Veloce.

Full spec here. I got a ~37% discount which meant I could afford to get this over the other bikes I was looking at.

Who needs a bell when you have freehubs this loud :D:eek:

What a wonderful looking ride. Enjoy that! I sure am just looking at it!

Thanks! :) Believe it or not, the parts on this bike have amalgamated from around the world. The frameset came from California, the wheelset from Colorado, the bars, stem and seatpost from the UK and the seat, cranks and pedal setup I purchased locally. It took a long time to get built up, but now it's finally finished!

lol. long-distance skids are still fun. but they're actually kind of difficult to do at high speed on the t1. it's EXTREMELY twitchy and throwing your nuts to the stem feels very very very unstable. to be honest this bike scares me a bit.

when you guys go and buy bicycles...do you negotiate on the bicycle price or do you negotiate with trying to throw extra stuff in like pedals, shoes..etc?

I think it's only appropriate to do this when buying a used bike in a private sale, or when you have developed a rapport with the bike shop. These are retail stores, remember. They have sales for a reason.

Not at the bike shops here in Philly... Negotiating is just fine.. Sometimes you'll get a few bucks knocked off (if you're a good negotiator I suppose), but most likely you'll get free service (for non-warranty things), or some gear..

It's definitely worth it to politely ask if there's a better deal available to be had from them.. Just be courteous about it and it's totally cool..

Even though I typically build my own bikes, I have bought a ride from them and we worked out a deal. Even though it really is about what parts you get.

Finally the weather is getting nicer.

My T1.

What a goregous bike and picture, do you have a hi res picture. Seeing the yellow tyres on the red frame makes me want to add some yellows to mine.

I did and got a reasonable discount. Granted it was an 09 bike that I bought well into the 10 bike season, a good time to buy bikes as the shops are trying to get rid of old stock. I got £700 off my bike, the old stock discount was about £550 so an additional £150 just for asking. That went towards a decent pair of pedals and shoes. They are shops and will say no if they don't want to and will still make a profit when they agree to a price with you, especially if you are turning that saving around back into the shop via extras.

Unfortunately no. I took that photo just with my point-and-shoot and resized it for web use. Didn't bother keeping a high-res version, sorry!

and for reference those are Vittoria Zaffiro Pros. Great mid-range folding tires. Nice and light. But honestly I only got the yellow ones because they didn't have black! I think black would look much cleaner and sexier. :) I'll be changing my rear to a beefy Specialized Armadillo or Conti Gatorskin soon.
