Real Evo drivers live their lives 1/4 mile at a time...

But, isn't the whole point of an Evo is their handling capability? :p

The m62TU v8 in my 540i made around 290 crank hp. The s54 i6 in my m3 makes around 330.[/img]

Ah, I thought you were comparing it to other V8s, not just BMWs. What year is yours? From what I can tell, it's between an 01 and early 03.
Beautiful car. One of the guys I used to work with has a supercharged E36 M3, over 400hp. I love the 3-series, back to when my dad had a beautiful 83 or 85 320 coupe, and a black/red 325i convertible 5spd after that.

Some guy in my area has a new M5 with an exhaust system on it, it sounds like a bag of ass. I keep thinking a ricer is nearby until I see his car. It makes me sad in pants :(

I'm sorry, did I blow your theory with a few facts? Have you even driven both cars?

Don't worry about him. He is one of those people who gives BMW drivers bad names and rely on the image the badge gives him. Both cars are great vehicles. I prefer the 135i over the Evo, but doesn't mean the Evo is a horrible car.

And US mags have gotten the 135i 0-60 in the 4.6-4.8 0-60 time. Just a friendly FYI. :) But, given the money I would save up a bit more and grab the Corvette Grand Sport.

Indeed, both are great cars. Didn't really have chance to open up the 135i but it is a great car. Depends what you're after I suppose, but I wouldn't dismiss either, but personally it's the Evo, as tuning parts are more readily available

True as the Evo has been out longer, but there are tunes out there for the N54 that gives it a good power boost. There are 335i's out there with 400 HP with a simple tune.

Nice! It's definitely got good tuning potential, was chatting to a mate of mine in Germany who's uncle has a 335 and there's a few companies over there tuning them. We're a bit behind in the UK though

In your opinion anyway. Let's take an Evo IX as an example. They're pretty nice inside, with enough luxury for most.
Evo IX FQ300 0-60mph in 4.5s
BWW 135i M Sport 0-60mph in 5.1s
So Evo IX > 135i

You've got to be kidding if you think that the Evo has a nice interior. Just look at your stereo... it looks like something from the 80s. Sorry, but the interior in the Evo is pretty bleek.

Yes I have driven both cars and I own a wrx. Simply put, I'm tired of driving a tin can and I'm sure that an evo is more of a tin can than a wrx.

I'm not relying on the image, I drive a wrx and I know that it is a piece of crap. And I know that an evo is built to be even shitier than a wrx. My wrx with 30k miles has no luxury, rattles, and shakes like a mother****er when it idles. I also know that my sister drives an x5 with a 140,000k on it and it drives like new despite the fact it hasn't had any basic maintenance let alone an oil change in the last 40k miles.

After owning my car I would never again buy another tin can boy racer. Seriously, what's the point when for a few thousand more you can buy a 135 with 6 pot brakes, an "m-tuned suspension" and an insane amount of tuning potential.

Cheap cars are cheap. Who would have thunk it?
