mezmerize I don't really care much for SUVs myself, they never appealed to me. OTOH, I don't feel the need to go give people crap about the car they drive; I'd rather enjoy my car and not worry about what other people choose to drive. Of course, I love to see people who are also very happy with their cars and treat them with the amount of respect a car should have.

That means yes, I enjoy seeing a shiny Acura NSX (it's one of my favorite sportsy cars from the time) that's in tip-top shape, and I like seeing those new Camaros, and the Challengers, Mustangs, even shiny Civics and GTIs (although those really aren't my thing).

Likewise, it makes me cringe to see a Corvette owner run over a park stop bar with their front bumper and scrape it on the way out, or a car with too much stuff on the outside held on with 3M double sided tape, if you know what I mean.

However, I don't go up to those people and tell them their cars are rubbish. Everyone has reasons for doing whatever it is they do (and sometimes that reasoning isn't rational).

It's not rational to expect a family with 1 vehicle to purchase a Miata. I drive a 300C daily because that's my family's sole method of transportation, and it needed to be big enough to do whatever and fit the needs exceptionally well. It also happens to fit my 2 brothers in the back seat, which I can tell you a Civic would not do very gracefully.

On the other hand, a base model Altima could've done it, but what's the fun in that? It's a large car that can be outfitted to pull 0.99g with suspension mods (and without, you can still drive it ridiculously hard). Plenty hard to surprise people with their small sporty cars ;)

It's kinda harsh though that you keep trying to shove your opinion up everyone's ass, man.

It is obvious that I am the only sports car/small car advocate in this thread (or the only one at least saying anything) so there is no point in arguing anymore. Everyone seems to be a truck/SUV fan.
If that is seriously what you think, the you obviously haven't been paying much attention. Hell, in just the last 10 posts, people have talked about their Talon, Mazda 3, Camaro, GTI, NSX, etc. Plenty of people, myself included, are fans of things other than trucks. You might have noticed this if you didn't spend so much time berating people about their car choices.

Is it AWD? If not, your wife must have some muscle on her arms due to her trying to keep the vehicle straight with 375 whp trying to torque steer the vehicle into a tree. :p

Nope...AWD is for wimps...LOL:D Actually it does have a Quaife LSD which helps immensely . The biggest problem is traction.you actually never get any torque steer cause the wheels slip first. Proper software and boost management is key to a high horsepower front drive car. When we where running APR's crappy software the car was horrendous to drive at anything less than WOT. Now that we have switched over to Eurodyne the car literally drives like a stock 1.8t with a lot more umph.

Yes she's a speed freek...I get stuck with the crappy ol slow VR6

I think I just had an accident in my pants :p
I'll be up there with you NSX owners one day. I put money away every month into my "NSX Account" so by the time I'm 40 or so I'll have enough to purchase an NSX or maybe even NSX-R but I don't really want a RHD.
Beautiful cars!

Prices have never been better. Join us at nsxprime.com and check the For Sale forum.

FWIW, genuine NSX-R are all RHD, but there are some outstanding imitations out there not to mention the 50 1999 Zanardi edition coupes.

A) Why did your parents buy you an M3 or any BMW? I am of the opinion of that kids shouldn't have BMW's unless they pay for them with their own money( including maintenance).

thankfully you're not one of my parents (although i trust you'll do a fine job on your children)! you would have had a stroke if you saw some of the schools around here, i know of more than a few kids who drove aston's, 911's and what not. one kid's parents bought him a (used) SLR as a graduation present.

Yea it feels good wasting gas so you can pretend to be a badass.

don't be ignorant! it's not about feeling like a badass, it's being able to tow boats, kegs, etc, while driving over stumps and knocking things down. we took it down to the cottage this weekend on unkept roads and driving over things and getting bogged down made me like i was a kid again (i'm only 20, but you know what i'm talking about). not to mention i can run into a tree and know everything is going to be okay.

as for the utility, this weekend i forgot to bring my trailer hitch ball, so we put seadoos on the inside. you can't do that in a crossover :). since it's a picture thread, here's a picture:

Sounds like you need to learn how to drive :p

I'm not joining this lame argument, since everyone can have their own opinion, but I know what you mean about the spoiled kids. In my area, mommy and daddy buys their kids like any car. The average kid in high school has a Jeep, Yukon/Suburban/Denali, CTS, STS, Explorers, etc... And then there's the kids with a Mercedes AMGs, Audis, Range Rovers, one SLS, BMWs, Escalades, and a rare Porsche or Lamborghini. Spoiled.

My first car was a '88 Jeep Cherokee for this exact reason. I got it when my dad got a new car. It was the perfect first vehicle. Even with the 4.0 I-6, it was slow as crap. The paint and body were pretty worn, so it didn't matter if I scratched or dinged it. And the interior wasn't in that great of shape either, so if I spilled anything inside, no big deal. But, it was strong as crap. I was rear-ended once with nothing more than minor dents and scratching on the bumper (other car was trashed). And, given its size, it could haul me and all my friends real well. Plus, with 4WD I could get around OK if the weather was crappy. Your Yukon sounds like the same thing, so I fully support this vehicle :D

Absoutely! Recently I got rear ended in a snow storm on my way back from university for the Christmas break. it sent me sliding sideways down the road (we didn't roll over or anything) into the barrier at 60 km/h or so. we hit it HARD, but we just bounced off and hit it again with the back end this time and came to a stop with a few more vehicles bearing down on us. So we quickly scurried off the highway. The front bumper was pushed in on the side we hit (preventing the wheel from turning), and the site we hit in the back the bumper got squished. but that was it... a whole bunch of little bits near the bumpers broke off, but alas.

an OPP officer saw the guy who hit us (a drunk driver in a blizzard, go figure) and stopped to help us. He came up to the truck and couldn't believe there wasn't more damage. he came up to us after inspecting the scene and said "you kids are really lucky you were in a truck. it definitely saved your lives" The next day, after we got it towed home, we died one end of the front bumper to a tow truck and pulled the bumper free so the wheels could turn again. Then we went home. Two new bumpers and some other little bits and she's as good as new (albeit with a huge dent in my fender where it buckled).

After this, this Yukon will always hold a special place in my heart .

I'll play along

My daily drivers are a Ford Explorer Sport Trac and a Suzuki Marauder motorcycle. No pictures of them around, so here's the pics of my other two toys.

The car is a '51 Chev Belair hardtop. All finished and my current summer toy.

The truck is the project I picked up to work on this winter.

1953 Ford (Mercury actually, but they put a Ford tailgate on it). She's pretty on the outside, and runs strong, but the engine and interior are a mess.

I like the lego block caps :D

Hrm *looks at thread* worst accidents I've heard of where the owner walked away were:

1. Dude ran his car into a ditch at 110mph. Yes. The front and rear were pretty screwed up but you could still recognize the car

2. Another dude got rear ended by a loaded dump truck (he stopped on the side of the road in fog). It screwed up the rear half of his car pretty good but he walked away.

Very clean stance...what wheels are those?

They are stilauto 5+5 wheels I got them from a local and had no clue that they where as rare as they where. Apparently they where never actually sold in the states and every website I try to find them on is in the UK and they are over 500 us each. Just had em re powder coated and they are currently for sale. I want to go with 17's and crank the coils down some more Trust me before the end of the year I'll prolly go through 5 sets of wheels LOL
