I don't get it, that's for damned sure. You've ruined the car by adding those wagon wheels.

Not that it was a great car to begin with, but now you've degraded almost every performance metric imaginable. It's slower, handles worse, is less economical, is less reliable, and all around a worse car than it was when new.

I'm as tolerant as most when it comes to variety in cars, but I'll never understand cars like this. 100% form over function. Why?

How is a wheel & tire that measures .5 inches taller than the stock wheel & tire affecting the car that drastically? I'm basically filling the original balloon style tire with a larger rim and slimmer tire. I could completely understand where you were coming from if I had 26's or 28's. This car originally came with a 305 V8 and has been upgraded to a 350 V8 with almost 100 more horsepower. So the car has actually been improved. The weight of the 22's might affect it slightly but I'm willing to sacrifice 1 or 2 horsepower off the line for a much better look.

It's not so much about rolling diameter as it is about weight. Heavy wheels absolutely ruin a car's handling and the ability of the suspension to maintain grip and handle bumps. Wheels are unsprung, spinning weight and even a few pounds more per corner can do dramatic damage to ride, handling, acceleration and even safety.

Perhaps your new wheels are crazy lightweight, but sadly that's uncommon among cosmetic wheel upgrades. Light wheels are expensive to design and build and most aftermarket wheels aren't built with weight in mind.

Quite often, even with non-lightweight wheels, the metal is less dense than the rubber.

He still will probably have ruined the ride and handling though, low-profile tyres are pretty awful on anything but a racing car.

I can't drive yet but when i can (in a month) it shall be 50% mine :D. My dad says it handles well and when we test drove it we did some crazy figure eights  and it was great. It also has alot of thrust upon acceleration and is sooooo smooth.

We have not taken delivery yet due to the title being in the mail but once the lady gets the title back we shall receive it :D

Thanks. I understand what you all are saying... I'm just pointing out the fact that I could've done a lot worse. I didn't have to alter the suspension or cut anything to install these wheels. The ride is slightly bumpier than before but it's almost unnoticeable when compared to the ride with the factory wheels. Had I posted this on a donk forum, everyone would complain how small the 22s look.

Few pictures I took on my iPhone. Top 2 looking super clean after getting it polished and my recently captured first ever speeding ticket! Apparently I have a bit of a gangster lean going on

I can't wait to get my license only about three more months, then I get my first car for my birthday in December. I've been looking at a VW, I like the Jetta.

I drove a rental X6 when I was getting my (dads) car serviced, and it was really fun. I couldn't imagine either of these vehicles being any better in the snow than a FWD sedan though. The extra heft you're lugging around means the traction you gain from a AWD vehicle in the snow is seldom worth it. If it was 4WD with lockers, that would be a decent tradeoff. If you're worried about her in the snow you should probably remember that 4WD/AWD only helps you get going, once you're moving it's actually easier to lose control of your vehicle (especially with dynamic performance control on the X6. I don't know if the FX50 has a similar system).

Also, it's much, much easier to get an AWD vehicle stuck in the snow or the mud, because of how they transfer power between the wheels rather than locking them all together.

That being said the X6 was tonnes of fun to drive and I kinda felt sad when I had to give it back. Even though it kind of looks like a dog taking a poo, it was extremely fun to be "seen in" and it had a pretty nice interior as well. Not to mention the cabin was very cozy and visibility was pretty excellent all around (despite the windows in the back being kind of small). You could also throw a surprising amount of stuff into it.

You should screw the safety and get her an X6M!

If you ever want to have adult backseat passengers, skip an X6. I'm 5'8" and I was nearly hitting the ceiling in the backseat.
