I would love a classic car if I was to buy one.

Go for it! Only car you'll ever buy where it is worth more after you drive it off the lot. Really, they only appreciate in value if you take care of them.

Yeah, but you've also got the higher maintenance and repair costs, more emissions, and less mpg......never mind, I would still love one. You Americans made some gorgeous cars in the 50's and 60's...

The blue Infiniti on the right above looks amazing, with that different bodykit style. Yours looks great as well :D I can imagine that being a good motorway/highway/interstate driver.

It'S surprising how many people have BMWs... Or maybe are they only more enthusiastic about their cars?

I don't have a car, but when I 'll buy one, it's going to be a BMW. :)

After driving a friends 2002 330ci, I would like one now as well. However the interior bores me compared to my 96 Audi. Dang that thing was quick. The other car I want first is a 96 LT4 Vette, with 380hp and lighter. The 330ci really is just as quick for street use which amazes me.

Well, in all fairness, it wouldn't be a daily driver. :)

It is the creature comforts I miss the most. Not talking the regular things like air conditioning or heated seats or GPS Navigation. I'm talking the ones you never even think about. Like windshield wipers that work when you accelerate, or a chime if you forget to turn off your lights or leave the keys in the ignition, or even that wonderful button to spray water all over your windshield when it is dirty.

None of those were invented in the 1950s.

True, I hadn't thought of that :p

Yeah, it's all stuff you take for granted as a modern driver. What car do you drive then? Apologies if you've already posted with it :D Even safety stuff as well, like ABS and airbags and ESA and.....

LOVE that car, but HATE those rims. Sorry man, I think they stick out on that car way too much, in the wrong way.

Yeah, they are a bit different compared to the average alloy wheels. I like them though. Unusual, but in a good way, imo.

Posted back on page #35 or so...

1951 Chev Belair and 1953 Mercury truck. The truck's my favorite of the two since it is a fellow Canadian :)

Or radial tires

Or a collapsible steering column

Or steering column mounted ignition.

Or seat belts

They're fun cars, and there are plenty of ways you can tweak the interior if you're so inclined. A friend has a 05 Z06 that he let me drive for a few hours when I was shopping for a sports car. I could get into some serious trouble with a Vette. I got into enough trouble with the Z4 M Coupe I ended up buying (which I no longer have).

Lovely! I don't actually drive, since I can't (because I'm 14), but I love cars anyway.

Wow. We're safer, more comfortable and faster with our cars nowadays.

And heavier and boring. Wish affordable ($30-70k) cars came with a monocoque chassis.... I really would not mind having the safety we see in F1 cars....imagine taking a crash at 200mph with any somewhat affordable road car....

I really don't care for all the safety the cars now have because of the weight penalty. Give me a Lotus Elan!;) I'll wear a helmet for a DD with a hans device.

Was it a c5 or c6 body style? There was no Z06 in 05.
