My Audi.

Posted before, just some more pics after a nice bath.....2006 Audi A4 2.0 Turbo Quattro Limited DTM Edition (250 made, only 25 imported into my country)

This beautiful piece of German engineering has done a modest 70 000 km and has never missed a beat ever!

Excuse picture quality, taken with my iPhone 3GS

Since being in a country that doesn't believe in snow, how much does it screw with the cars? I assume under the car will rust pretty nicely?

The snow itself isn't a huge problem, but there's the issue that snow means it's cold - and if the roads are impassable, then the car sits unused. If this carries on, it can mean a flat battery when you come to start it up again, as well as making driving a pain in the ass.

Miss this thing, :(

I had one of those as well. 1993 grand cherokee limited with the 5.2 V8. Great vehicle. Tranny finally went out at 282,xxx miles. Decided to junk it.

Miss everything but the gas mileage. Due to a plenum leak, I was running premium getting around 15mpg.

I had a friend with the 1998 5.9. Man what a nice Jeep.

Currently have a 2000 Cherokee, the boxy one. Love it to death.

Same. I had a 1998 5.2 Limited, loved it. Had to let it go due to running costs, damn parts for that thing are expensive!

As for the above GTI, AMAZING pictures!

Yes, unfortunately finding an unmolested one is going to be a challenge.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, the XJ is damn near indestructable (its engine atleast...). My parents have a 95 XJ w/ the 4.0 I6 and a 5sp. Apart from the driver door needing to be re-welded at the hinge, its going strong (close to 200k on the clock).

But finding one some 18 year old hasn't torn apart, ran into the ground or done homebrew mods on is harder as time goes by.

Here's a before and after picture of me & my father's '68 Fairlane 500:

before_1.png

after_1.png

The first picture is from April 2008 when we bought it. Picked it up for $400, as it was going to be crushed. The second picture was taken in August 2010. Since we bought it, we've (my dad and I) mainly worked on the cosmetics. This year we are working on the mechanical stuff. It was sitting in a barn for 9 years without moving, so it was pretty rough.

For those interested, it's got a 289ci V8. All matching numbers. Everything surprisingly still works, including the power convertible top. My dad and I hope to get her on the road and at car shows summer 2011 :)
