SNAP I thought you got a BMW!!:eek: Awesome!!! Hahahahahaha! NASIOC.com is your friend  ...you probably already know
Been to NASIOC, as well as IWSTI.

I was planning to get a BMW 1 series, but later. However, they are all out-pricing themselves. Every time I turn my back, BMWs get more expensive. I basically threw in the towel and gave up trying to constantly revise my car plans with their price increases. To get a 1 series the way I like would cost as much as what I paid for a 5-series some time ago. The difference now is I am buying on 48 month terms rather than leasing as I used to do.

Let me start off saying I do not know too much about the European cars as old American muscle is what I have/work on.

I take it the 325 is not an IRS so my guess is she broke the axle? Also where she hit you really isn't that awful. As a body man, I would see if I could salvage that body line (doesn't look like she damaged it from the pictures) and put a patch panel in. That has no real contour so I would believe it won't be that much to fix. Did she do any damage to the inter wheel well? Trunk looks fine too.

I want one of those now after seeing yours. Auto X in that thing would be amazing.

I hope it can be fixed as you think. It is IRS btw. And yes, AutoX in this car is just tits. Heres my standing from last time out, pay attention to the cars around my times, and notice I am quite low on HP at about 175hp at the wheels:

Click for bigger: (I am 8th Justin Ooms) Quite a few people thought the car was on race suspension and supercharged (it does have a unique sound with the cobbled together M3 exhaust). Just don't jerk the car, dance smoothly like a ballerina right?

The jump in 4/10ths of a second for the faster cars is really down to using race rubber. I was on RS3s.

Sweet!

Oh gotcha, ya thats true. I was interested in a BMW a while back but decided against it for that reason.

I remember when I was in college a few years ago, I was pricing out a 3 series because I was dead set on getting that car when I graduated. Now I look at a 1 series and it costs what the 3 series I really wanted cost back then.

Then I came down to reality and figured that spending more than 30k on a car fresh out of college wasn't as feasible as I had hoped (or the brightest idea either) and got a new GTI instead which I couldn't be happier with.

It's funny how I can take any point in my life, look back five years, and think what a dumbass I was. I'm sure five years from now it'll be the same too. :)

I'm in my 50s and figure life is too short to worry about dumbass things I did five years ago, or even 5 minutes ago. :)

The result of a lady running a red light while on her cell phone just this Sunday. I saw she was going to be in my door, so I floored it, and she ended up in my tail instead. I bought a car without airbags and low weight for a reason: AutoX... Still, think I will pick up another but this time with an S50/52 swap. Or a 240z with a 350sb swap...

2 more weeks and I would have owned it for a year...

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Another one of gods chariots is gone :(

So this happened yesterday...

nx2SN.jpg

3 month old car and the insurance company have written it off...

When I get the cheque I'll be paying off the finance and using the leftovers to buy an old car to run into the ground on my daily commute. Much more my style than a new car.

Ouch! Hope you and everyone else is OK. Crashes (and right-offs) are never fun. Been there twice.

And now

Seems like a drastic change in lifestyle....mudding/offroad to a street car

Those GTI's look sweet though!

I know what you mean. Until this summer, my main car was a 1990 celica. Great car and still have it (though plan to give it to my 16yo brother once he has a DL). Original plan was also to get a new car after graduating college....and that was 4 years ago lol. Then this summer I bought myself a Subaru OBS and love that thing but at the time, I was really trying to justify getting the WRX for 6-7k more.

While the WRX would have been fun, I am glad I stayed within my budget of sub 20k

It was, but it was a lifestyle I didn't like that much either. I liked the truck, didn't like the 13 mpg I got on a daily basis. So I decided to get rid of it for something more economical and fun. :)

I'm fine, as was the driver of the other car.

I was turning at a green light, and had assumed the light was for my direction only (there wasn't anyone coming the other way at the time), then he came over the crest of a bridge in the other direction and collected me. He admitted that he was travelling faster than the speed limit, so hopefully they'll take that into account a tiny bit instead of lumping 100% of the blame on me.

The speed will not be taken into account as cannot be proven either way. This could be considered as dangerous driving (imagine if it was rush hour or there were children in the car) which carries points and a fine. I hope you have good insurance

How can you get ticketed (points & fine) for making a turn on a green light? If both parties agree that both were going through on a green light and one just didn't see the other coming because of an obstruction, I mean how are you supposed to know that a car is coming if you can't see it coming? How are you supposed to make that turn?
