Your cars are really nice. My wife and I have a pair his/hers 2011 Subaru STIs. She got hers first and strongly considered the Evo. We looked at a white one that was really sharp!

Ignore the trolls. They just want to be haters.

I did own a Hawkeye STi for 4 weeks, I just didn't get on with it. This was after my evo V and first VIII, I part ex'd it for another VIII

How do you feel about Top Gear prefeering the EVO over the STI:p

Count me in the STI camp. Currently have a Imprezza OBS. Can't ever have a car made by a company that makes TVs LOL

Those sub 40k cars are so hard to own. Forget that there are many posting cars well more pricy than that in this thread lol

Your right they aren't overly expensive. I paid £22K about $35K but the smaller FQ 300's can be picked up for about £16K / $25K. In the UK its all about the running costs especially as they have to be run on a minimum of 98 ron fuel which is the most expensive.

Nice rims, love an aggressive set on an evo, not sure if I prefer the Grids of the Drifts.

Either way, both these cars need some STANCE! Get them sitting low!

I love both as well, the Grids are 18 x 9.5 and the drifts are 19 x 10
I do want to get some Tein coilovers with adjustable dampeners, but my garage has a large slope going into it and I'm worried about clearance. May get some new springs as the current shocks are bilsteins and see how it goes.

For a quick run-down if anyone is interested I have owned:

Modified Ford Focus (I was young):

Evo V that I so regret selling:

Evo VIII MR FQ 340 running 384bhp sold to fund wedding:

Evo VIII FQ300 at 350bhp - my house was burgled and the car was stolen, this was my favourite and I would still have it today if it wasn't for the thieving scum:

I part own an IT company. I'm not a wealthy person, I'm comfortable in life but I don't spend money elsewhere. I'm not into fancy clothes, I don't drink alcohol and I'd prefer a Nandos over a fancy meal. I'm a petrol head, always have been.
My first car cost me £900 and since then I've saved and worked my way up one car at a time.

Got rid of my Evo VIII a couple months ago. Had her setup perfectly. Once it reaches that point, though, I tend to park the car in the garage and barely drive it. Got rid of her because she was taking up space.

Miss that car.

Trying really hard not to get another car. I almost pulled the trigger on an STi hatch.

Think I'm going to go the opposite extreme this time around and get a 4x4 truck.

My real goal in a few years is to get an E92 M3 and boost that.

Same here, I barley drove the evo so I tried selling it for something else, but nothing felt right! I'm not a M3 person, although I have driven a M3 CSL and it was EPIC!

I bought the GTI at the end of last year and picked up the jeep about month ago as a winter beater. Too bad we haven't had much bad weather to make use of the Jeep. Although, it is nice having a vehicle that I can haul stuff in.

I should know this being a bike guy but is that a Gladius in the garage as well? My other guess would be er6n.

Also, how have those EVOs been from a maintainence pov? I may just may consider one in the future. My bother has had a eclispe gsx and gst and they look like fun cars. Can't imagine an evo though lol

Couple shots of the daily:

I don't particularly like Mustangs, but nice car!! I actually really like yours. The seats look extremely comfortable and the car looks fantastic for it's age. I definitely like the older ones much more than the newer ones.

Thanks, I used to drool over these shortly after getting my license back in '99/'00; I always drooled over the '98s that were either red or black with black leather with the optional 17" split spoke wheels.

I was surprised by the seats when I sat in them, they are probably some of the most comfortable seats I've sat in; much softer that the park benches all the new cars come with, yet supportive and hugging...the driver's seat also has power lumbar.

Someone's gotta represent the sub-$10k crowd here...

the thing about mustangs is that they are so common in the states. but the newer gt500 and shelbys etc are pretty bada$$.

Do they finally get a proper suspension, or are they still going with live real axles?

I haven't looked that deep into them. I wouldn't get one for their handling abilities though. For straightaway drag racing the power is very good but I'm a twisty mountain run guy so I prefer the 370z, not as many horsies but much much better handling than the stang

For me every 'stang == meh. I've just never cared about straight line speed. On a road course the straight is just the boring part between the good bits. :)
