I don't think that show was comparing those two pieces of transportation on accordance of speed, but more of the maneuverability.

But, yes i do agree with you. I just thought it was kind of suprising that they compared a multi-million dollar attack helicopter to a mer $30,000+ sport compact race car.

Oh I know that video was comparing maneuverability. However, I've seen other videos comparing a car's speed to an aircraft, starting from a complete stop.

But would anyone really think that a military helicopter is supposed to be really tight in the corners? ;) I mean, all aircraft aren't as quick in the corners as a car. They are not designed to be that way.

They might as well make a video comparing the cornering of a bicycle to a car. Since the bike can make a much tighter corner, it must be better. :)

That's not cool rossoUK. I hope everybody's okay. Is it totalled?

We've just had a record amount of fatalities on our roads this last day or so. :(

2001 Ford Puma

Why is it that the U.S. 'Big Three' release their best cars overseas, but not at home? (I define 'best cars' as those that are 'cool', but not so ridiculously expensive that only the very rich buy it, like the Viper and GT.)

fuel economy, narrow roads and streets, more expensive petrol, there's loads of reasons.

i'd much rather have a mustang here than most of these smaller cars, like the puma, fiesta, civic, etc, but because of the left hand drive / fuel economy thing, it'd be stupid.

so, i've got a nice little car that'll return 30 miles to the gallon motorway cruising, while being nice and nippy - under 5 seconds 0-60mph. - it's had some serious under cover work done to it. i love that it looks completely standard, but basically that's because the only really original parts are the body panels... 2.5 V6, 190bhp? it's been tinkered to: 2.8 V6, 375bhp+, lightened & strengthened chassais, huge air filters, direct exhaust, etc etc. i spent £2000 on new brakes in december, when it proved that the rather large brakes there already couldn't stop the beast too easily - and were almost at melting point. ok that was from high speeds, but who tunes an engine to nearly 400bhp to wander down a road slowly?

according to a few reports, the engine can be tuned to beyond 550bhp - i can't wait to see what that brings :D

it goes like sh*t off a shovel - i can outrun almost anything else on the roads in this baby.

there's a few pics here.

not bad for an eleven year old car!

My '93 240sx. Props to the guys with the older Datsuns, those cars are awesome.

Here's my car: (actually not mine, but it is a good picture and my car is the same year, model, color and condition - so saves me the effort of photographing mine, especially since it has bird**** on it this morning)

Don't see alot of other saabs in this thread. Makes me sad...It is a great car. Fast, great MPG, hatchback with cavernous interior (I can sleep in the back with the seats down) and classy. It is a 97 Saab 9000 CSE btw

Absolutely - you've all missed the point here - it's fantastic telly and an enormous hoot! You gotta love Clarkson, he does have a way with words. This piece of film shows that the good old BBC makes cracking television when they want to.

My beautiful black Golf. I love this car. GTI 1.8T - goes like stink, corners on rails, cd changer, climate control and fantastic build quality.

Bad news is, it goes back at the end of the lease on 27th Feb. :(

Good news is, it's being replaced with a fully-loaded Audi A6 on 1st March! Yayhay! :D

Someone with taste. Lovely autos, I really want to get a nice used Golf TDI, but they're pretty pricey for me.

I don't actually have a photo of my car, but it looks almost identical to this:

When I read this I literally started laughing out loud. They must make the VW's different over there then they do here :p , I know the Jettas available here were made in Mexico.

I had a VW Beetle, and it was phenomenal. It handled better than any other car I've driven. The quality was also very high compared to the other cars I see daily.
