So the update must have been pulled and delayed? Kind of surprised Google hasn't made any official statement on this.

I've checked almost every hour on both my T-Mobile Pixel 6 and my Google unlocked Pixel 6 Pro and zero updates available.

I've noticed zero improvements with the fingerprint scanner since the update. It's not a major issue as I don't think it's complete garbage, just slow.

One thing I have noticed though... I no longer get the blurred background on swiping down for notifications. Always seems to be the solid colour now!

All good, I still haven't received the update yet.

Pixel Stand 2 just arrived.
It's nice. If a little underwhelming for the price of the thing...

I don't use a wireless charger as I don't generally like them, (the discs you plonk your phone on I mean), bit thought I'd give this one a go.

The phone sits nice (Pro) but there's an ever so slight overhang on each side. The regular 6 would probably fit bang on.

With the official Google case on, it extends out of the stand even further.
Please don't judge the yellow wallpaper in my bedroom... This was the previous owners lol and the walls need replastering (new year job) before we decorate haha.

The fans whirring away was... Odd. Not sure why they kick in?! I'm looking forward on these dark mornings to have the light wake me up slowly :D.

Not much more to say on it really!
Love your wallpaper. Mind sharing? :)

So now that the phone has been out for almost 2 months what are everyone's thoughts? Is the Pixel 6/6 Pro good enough to be your main device or have you gone back to something else?

While I'm enjoying the P6P I'm thinking about moving back to an iPhone for my main device. Having to sideload updates, getting worse network connectivity when I'm at work, and the terrible adaptive brightness when I'm trying to use my phone in a dark room are all things that are pushing me back. I'd also like to see more customization options with the Pixel launcher. I know that I can install a different launcher but I was hoping I'd be able to get rid of the Google bar at the bottom and the at a glance widget. I don't really want to start messing with different launchers because I've gone down that path before and I'm constantly making changes to it instead of just using the device.

So you are going into the app from the actual s21 phone? I would think from there you should be able to change the SMS text number to one that you would like to use and have a SIM on one of the other phones.. Even though you don't have an SIM on the s21 youre on Wi-Fi, so I'm thinking that's the phone that it's defaulting to as a preference since that's the Samsung phone if it makes any sense.. I don't have my SIM in my Fold 3 but it's still the preferred two factor notification
That makes sense and yes in the app on the S21 Ultra, I put in both of my phone numbers and the code still only goes to the S21 Ultra and only the Ultra. So that’s why I’m afraid to move remove it from recognized devices because there’s no way I can see to enter my other devices. At some point if I decide to leave Samsung entirely I would not worry about it but I’m not at that point yet.

Now sign out of your Samsung account on the S21 Ultra from the app and settings account and tell me where it sends the code ..

So first of all for the three issues you're having the side load I feel will not be a problem My thinking it's only this beginning and then it will fall in line imo. I don't have any connection issues anywhere so I can't comment on that. And I agree adaptive brightness has always been crappy on Pixel phones. This new one is no different and has me just using the slider manually myself... I do use this as my main driver and TBH I don't miss my fold. Just a few things like the call screening and dictation can't be matched on any of my other phones along with the now playing music and those little extra pixel exclusive's have me hooked.. I highly recommend Nova launcher if you get the Pro has all the bells and whistles and you could set it nicely the way you want and be done with it. Stuff like widget overlapping and custom icons. The stock launcher in my opinion is very lacking..

More than good enough for me to be used full time.
Plus, nothing else on the market currently is worth it IMO. I hate the S21 U, don't do OnePlus and whilst I would use an iPhone no problem, I find them just so boring.

I still think the camera is the best on the market and it truly feels like a flagship. Even the smaller 6 (which I actually loved) feels flagship to me.

iPhone users always dip their toe and always go back. Usually it's because they can't cope without their Apple Watch so I'm surprised that's not one of your reasons! ?

I think all of my issues are software related so I probably just need to give it more time. And, you talked me into Nova launcher, I just set it up now exactly the same as I had it on the default launcher, just removed the at a glance widget and the Google search bar (which I don't use). But I would like to get a weather widget so I'll have to look into that next.

More than good enough for me to be used full time.

I've tried before so this isn't my first time and in the past I went back a lot faster. I'm just not excited with what Apple is doing lately. Also, I've been using an iPhone since 2008 so it's a hard habit to break! It seems most of my issues are probably software related so I really need to give it some more time. Still going to keep the P6P as my main device and just hope that the updates can solve them.

.

I'm just using Google's At A Glance lol but at least I can place it anywhere and overlap it with clocks ...

Chronus is a simple widget and there are plenty of extensions for it ..

Ok, now that I can move it anywhere I want the Google At A Glance widget doesn't bother me at all, I'll stick with that. Thanks!

Do any of you guys using Nova notice a delay between swiping to home and it responding to tapping an app icon? For me there was about a 1 second delay which made me end up tapping icons a couple times to get a response. That was getting frustrating so I'm back on the Pixel launcher for now.

I just got Nova setup but so far I haven't noticed anything like this. I see there's a back up and restore option. Did you try that to see if it helps at all?

No such behavior here on Nova 7.0.57

Totally agree

Yes, it's been there ever since Google started supporting native gestures with 3rd party launchers. I haven't tried Nova on the Pixel 6 yet, but when I tried to use it on the S21 Ultra with gesture navigation, there's always a second delay where it clearly redraws and has to load before it takes input. It was bad enough that I went back to the default Samsung launcher.
