Oh wow. And if it doesn’t do well my fear is that they’ll just dismiss the entire concept/product and move on. They just won’t address the problems, which they cause by making frustratingly boneheaded decisions like this. I get that they’re into software and data mining, but the thing is they could create a compelling ecosystem to facilitate their primary business. And they just don’t. And even their software suffers from abandonment issues, in a manner of speaking.
The one way I could understand this decision is that it’s their only option due to the infamous supply chain constraints and they’ve really figured out a way to optimize the hell out of older components.
I’d say it’s more likely that they started development on it using that processor and it’s been delayed a million times for whatever reason that at this point they don’t have time to switch to the newest and flush out any bugs.
Or they’re just cheap and like to cut corners because they think nobody will notice.
