Apparently it’s only an issue on the regular pixel 6 and not on the pro :/

It is everywhere there is a grey background: the google search bar, on the settings screen of every app with dark mode, on the notification center.

Damn now you’ve got me thinking that I got a faulty screen, maybe I should try to get another one? I really enjoy using the phone, the screen is the thing that really bothers me
Send it back for another

Understood but I would like know what's so wrong about lifting the phone so as to turn on the screen or touching the screen so as to make it come on?
That's a lot of energy lol
But seriously, I just don't want my screen on all day. Even if I had a desk job.

I'd also likely have a computer in front of me in that case and at home my phone is linked to my PC when I sit at it.

On the Pixel 7 line, curious if Google will indeed use a new type of fingerprint scanner? Probably the #1 complaint on the Pixel 6 line is the fps. So Google must be aware of this, and you would hope use a different and better method on the upcoming phones.

With those few Pixel 7's that were out in the public was there any confirmation on new fingerprint scanners on them?

I mean if Google keeps the same Pixel 6 scanner on the Pixel 7, I have no words for that.

Maybe !

"Google is confirmed to be using a different sensor in the Pixel 6a, and early results seem to suggest it is faster than the one found in the Pixel 6. That bodes well for the Pixel 7, though we don't know if that different sensor will actually show up in Google's 2022 flagships."

My Pixel 6 Pro came back today. That was very seamless repair experience. Sent back on Sunday morning. Received back fully repaired today. I think they've replaced the whole screen as I definitely had some scuffs and light marks on the screen due to not using a screen protector, but this panel is perfect.

Can't fault Google for the repair! 👍🏻

It's a convenience thing especially while working ..usually hands are on the keyboard or phone when not with ear buds so seeing alerts to act on with having to reach is a major plus for me ...

Yep totally agree. I can be walking past my phone and see time and notifications with AOD. Then if you don't like it.....you can turn it off

Here is the P6P S22U and 13 PM

AoD is a must have for me on any smartphone.

Without it it looks like the phone is powered off or broken not working.

It's nice to just walk by the phone while it's laying on the table and you could see just my glancing at it if you have a missed call or a text.

Currently the iPhone you have no idea if you just missed a text you have to actually touch the phone to notice it which seems super outdated.

Apple probably won't add AoD because that's what they want people to buy a watch for. And we all know people obsess over their apple watches. "Ecosystem" yada yada.

All the rumors are pointing to the iPhone 14 Pro line having AoD, due to the new 1hz display tech. But we'll see. I thought it was for sure coming last year on the iPhone 13 Pro and it didn't. So who knows.

Your Pixel is showing 109 fahrenheit! I looked it up and that's like 43 C.
It's cooking wherever you are!

Yeah thats normal for summer in Arizona. It was 115 today!
I’ve lived in Portland OR for a couple of years and I remember during the summer months when there was little rain, the temps by 12-3pm would get to 105 F. It was hot hot but bearable as long as you drank plenty of water. Portland, OR gets lots of rain but has rather low humidity.

Most of my life I have lived in the lower part of Florida. When the temps get to 90, it can feel 102F in the sun because we have high humidity, like almost 100% humidity. Yesterday was one of those days and I happened to be working 2 straight hrs in that heat for my customer. In Florida you have to drink 3-4 times the water you normally do just to keep from overheating, which happened to me. After the 2 hrs I worked up a 5 alarm headache.
