But all of that is also incremental. It looks different, the phone colors are different, the OS looks different but is it? Or is it just slight changes to make you think you are getting a totally new experience? I see that as just changing things up to make you think it's a whole brand new never seen before experience. Smartphones still can browse the web, take pictures, send messages, make or receive phone calls.

I'm a Pixel owner and I don't see the "this has never been done before" by the new Pixel or the latest iPhone.

What annoys me about the pixel line is you don’t know what features Google will be adding or axing from the new phone.

It seems like each they take away something from the previous model and add something completely different. There’s no succession in hardware.

Yes, I’m very disappointed they dropped face recognition. I think everyone agreed it worked very well. I’m hoping they’ve reached a level within their organization that, going forward, they can manifest a bit of a more obvious roadmap between this year and next. Of course they’ll possibly throw foldables into the mix and that can be where the mystery and adventure comes in.

Yeah that’s where my rub is with Google. They have such ADHD that you can’t get too attached to something cause they may axe it. LOL.

I hope most of all that they take a minute to boost Android tablets so we get a 8” tablet with AMOLED, since cheapskate Apple won’t do that with the Mini. Yeah I’m disappointed lol.

You don’t even have the adaptive material you icons turned on!

Can’t even tell you’re using Android 12 LOL.
I already posted a second screenshot set with the junk on. Looked like crap so I turned it back off.

Yeah I saw LOL after I had already posted my reply.

The way you have your home screen setup it looks jarring. When I was using a 3a XL to try out the beta I only put google apps on the home screen.

I think it’s dumb that the other app icons can’t be forced to follow the theme.

They can't be forced because I think it's something developers themselves would need to do.

I think people just make the remarks about blue vs green bubble because they associate not being able to send/receive quality media attachments via messages with the green bubble. I'm pretty sure nobody really actually cares what color the chat bubble is.
Thank you! Exactly this.

I think a lot of that was removing stuff to keep costs down. Now they are committing to a pro device I would hope they don’t remove stuff year on year.

I don’t think google have joined the pro market to leave it anytime soon.

I don't really use the app drawer, I just use the search bar and the icons on the home screen but I use the predictive apps feature anyway so that bottom row of icons will constantly change based on what I do throughout the day.

Ooh. Nice find! I guess that’s the golden one. It looks lovely. It’s a bit conspicuous though. I wonder what some of the people who complained the blue iPhone Pro is inappropriate for the boardroom on the main forum will say about it. But there’s the black and grey model and plenty of cases that can make it look like a boardroom appropriate slab.

There have been a lot of leaks on the XDA Forums about the 6Pro. It’s going to have an excellent display. The leaks about the SOC apparently alarm some people but I think in this case the leaks don’t give us an accurate estimate of what performance will be like in the real world.

I wish I could see more leaks about the regular 6.

My P4XL has new life running the Android 12 beta. So I am more than sure the P6 and Pro will have no problem performance wise. Will they be benchmark kings....NO.....do they have to be...NO! Will they still deliver a great user experience...YES!

Benchmarks are so overrated.

Yeah I stopped gaming on phones a couple of years ago. Everything else I do is pretty basic. It will be interesting to see what Google has cooked up with their software. The 4XL was my favorite Pixel in terms of looks. I’m glad you’re still having fun with yours. I was always impressed how updates kept my Pixel 2 feeling fresh. The display was going pink (the same pink stain that plagued my s8+) but the phone functioned great.

I do wish they’d kept their colorful power buttons. It was a signature look. I’m sure they will do something quirky next year. I hope so, anyway.
I could see them doing it with the standard models rather than the pro, I'd like it on every model and colour personally.

I’ll have to see how much they hold back on the standard models and what progress they make on quality control and reliability. If they don’t hold back on photo quality, even if it’s a dual lens only setup, that could be an attractive option for me especially if they make the phones smaller. I’m going to have a challenge carrying around even the regular 6. Well at least in the summer. In winter I have more options for pockets and carry-all’s.

The green / blue bubble argument can be easily solved... Just put the device in grayscale mode 🙃

Hmm to pixel 6 or to not pixel 6 🤔 I keep bouncing
