Haha we're all waiting patiently I also ordered one of the Google cases from Verizon and that's out for delivery today through UPS as well

Grrrrr.....just got shipping notification from Google. Was originally scheduled for Oct 27-28. Then 28-29. And now that it has shipped it says 29-30. I had scheduled it to be delivered to my office which would have been fine on any day between 27th and 29th but my office is closed on Saturdays

LOLz at the rep who reached back out to me from t-mobile trying to make this sound better by saying not to worry because my account is in good standing and as soon as they get stock, they will ship it out. This was in response to me commenting that there's no reason to call it a pre-order if it's not at least shipped on the day it comes out, if not sooner. It's just called an order then.

Originally stated 29 - 30 but FedEx (who is always delayed in my case) says the 29th. I now personally expect it Monday Nov 1st, likely at 6PM my time and handed off by a crabby driver.
At the height of lockdown during distance learning, and when Covid was raging through our community, we ordered a small aquarium online for a school science project. The FedEx driver who usually drove our route for a couple of years leading up to that time was super stealthy. Our items often ended up in a puddle where our driveway has a depression in the asphalt next to the garage door. Meanwhile we have a covered front porch. Or even a non puddled area just as easy to drop packages on.

The day the aquarium was due to be delivered, I stayed near the front door so I could take the aquarium directly from the driver. I had a small hand truck ready. I don’t know how, but he managed to sneak past my vigil and threw that aquarium against the side of the house. I heard it hit and ran out but he was already gone, squealing wheel out toward the main road. You could see where the garage door was hit and scraped and the box of the aquarium was crushed like it has been beaten on by the gorilla that used to abuse suitcases in the old luggage commercials.

Of course the aquarium was in pieces. Fortunately, Amazon refunded us and wrote off the damage without me having to try to send back what I could salvage. I ended up masking up and going to the pet store.

Not all of our FedEx drivers are jerks. I’m hopeful, because we got a new guy I’ve never seen before and he helped me drag some heavy cat litter deliveries from Chewy into the garage and was polite and cheerful about it. And now I come out to deliveries stacked neatly away from the perpetual puddle. Someday we will have the driveway repaired. But that’s on a long list of things we need to get fixed around here post-lockdown.

Coming from an iPhone 11, I was initially going to go with the 13 Pro or Pro max but now I can't help but to consider a Pixel considering the pricing difference. Up in Canada, the pricing for the 128GB models are as follows:

iPhone 13 Pro $1399
iPhone 13 Pro Max $1549
Pixel 6 $799
Pixel 6 Pro $1179

The Pro Max is everything I want in a phone but man that price point is steep.

The Pixel 6 checks off all the boxes and while I would like a telephoto lens, I would only use it a handful of times in a year. It's hard to justify the price difference between the 6 and the pro for my use case. I did check both of them out at Best Buy and the pro was the nicer phone but I didn't think the 6 was garbage in comparison or anything like that.

Both Apple and Google are offering a similar trade in value for my 11. With the Pixel, you get free Pixel buds and with a 2TB Google one subscription, you get 10% back as Google Play credit. The only thing that is making it a little bit hard to go back to Android is finding a replacement for the Apple watch. But the Pixel 6 is such a good value, that it is hard to pass up. I will wait for more reviews, but I have a feeling I will go with a Pixel 6.

Just got in! Boxes sure getting smaller...

If anyone has time, please do some comparison shots between cameras you have in existing phones, and your new Pixel. I setup a thread where we can all post such comparisons year round as we cycle through phones :) .

I plan on a full day of comparing the 3 with the 6, since it is the 1st new Android phone that I have needed to buy since my 3 is no longer going to get security updates or OS patches going forward. Curious how far google has come over the years.

I'm liking it although work is in my way...screen is not so curved especially with case on ...feels a little wide of course coming from the Fold slim profile when close ...

Early fingerprints result and don't mind my raspy cold voice

Nice to see the fingerprint sensor working so well. Looks as good or better than the S21 Ultra. This was one of my concerns after reading some of the reviews but looks like it won't be an issue.

It is not. The fingerprint sensor is...passable. Its not as fast as the ultrasonic on the S21 Ultra but the haptics make it feel more satisfying if that makes sense. There a little delay the optical sensor needs to light up the screen that the S21 Ultra doesnt need. If you're coming from the S21, this sensor will be a bit of a downgrade IMO.

Really great hands-on video, these are exactly the kind I personally prefer to see from us genuine users! Thanks for doing this for us Pixel fans in the community.

In my view, the 6 Pro fingerprint sensor is incredibly quick with always on display in your test. I’m actually surprised just how fast this is compared to the YouTubers first impressions on the sensor, I guess they were using the fingerprint as standard etc.

Also, the screen looks lush, really bright and punchy, I don’t think I’m going to notice any difference between my 6 Pro brightness vs my 13 Pro Max.

Roll on tomorrow for the delivery of my Stormy Black Pro 6!
