I think he definitely thinks it’s the better value, but he used the Pro almost extensively and I’d bet he’d pick the pro all day. I say try the Pro first as you’re used to the large, higher refresh screens and bet you’ll like it.

Biggest surprise to me was his 3-4 hours of screen time on these phones. That is not very good.

3 to 4 hours SoT only? WTF, that's horrible, like worse Pixel 3 XL and 4 XL which both sucked for battery life. Ugh.

This news of terrible battery life has me concerned, very.

But I trust real people like on this forum, that actually own and use the phone themselves and report their feedback here.

But yeah Marques was pretty down on the phone. Total bummer.

Wonder what his usage was...I've seen other reviewers claim anywhere from 6-8 hours

He liked the flat screen Pixel 6 better and said it’s $599 price was unbeatable.

But said the 6 Pro had 3.5h to 4.5h SoT and the regular 6 even worse. Said had to always be near a charger or battery pack for both phones.

Pulled this from our Android Forum in case anyone has issues ...

QUOTE=Blaize19;6998331]I work in biometric fingerprinting (we sell the hardware and software, which we developed, for state and federal background check digital fingerprint submission). Optical fingerprint scanners do not work well on dry fingers. Almost everyone will need some kind of ridge builder.

If you make sure to keep your hands moisturized in general it should make a difference, as should holding your finger on the scanner for a 2-count or so.

We recommend Corn Huskers Lotion because it's inexpensive, non-greasy, and a small amount will keep your hands moisturized for hours. In a pinch you can swipe your finger on your forehead or nose and pick up a little skin oil.[/QUOTE]

His video title is Almost Incredible so I assumed he likes it a lot. What were his main gripes? I’m unable to watch til later.

Battery life and inconsistent photo quality as he said some would be a 10 and then he’d get a lot of 7’s, where the iPhone is always a 9. He feels the post processing is overdoing it and no longer needs to as the sensors are much improved.

He mentioned off axis screen shifting on the 6 pro as a minor issue, but was pretty positive about the screen.

Surprisingly enough, he was fairly positive about the video.

He did say these were his favorite Pixels ever. I got the feeling he wanted to love these, but instead, he thinks they have a great personality, but there wasn’t a spark, it’s not you, it’s me… wait, wut?! Kidding aside, I think he hoped for a bit more.

I think their consistency is what impresses me the most. Moved from Friday. Not a biggie, but hoping to get for the weekend!

Ok, so I've had it for half a day and I've started to notice a couple of issues...

- Fingerprint sensor sucks. It just does. It's consistent a second or two slower than the S21 Ultra and way slower than the Pixel 5. It takes a second to light up and another second to read and then the transition animation is slow. This is a bummer since it's the only form of biometric authentication. I'm hoping a software update can improve it.

- Tensor seems like it doesn't know how to handle the adaptive refresh for some apps. Twitter scrolling can be especially choppy at times. It isn't lag, it's like the screen doesn't know to ramp up the refresh so it's staying at 60hz.

- Battery seems to be draining a little fast, but I have been hammering it with app installs and logins so don't judge this one yet.

Otherwise, the phone feels great. Snappy performance, android 12 is awesome, and phone feels good in hand. The above notes are my only complaints. FP sensor being by far the biggest negative.

Lift to wake phone then fingerprint takes like half a second for me.

And, what do you know. A 64.35 MB update finally shows up so I can start testing.

Finished updating about 40 minutes later so a lot longer than expected for the stated size and it's version SD1A.210817.036.

I think what makes it worse is that it doesn't active when the screen is off. With the S21 Ultra, as long as I hit the right area with the screen off it would activate. P6 fingerprint reader only works when the screen is on.

But even then, it's just slower. I've tested both side by side. It's noticeable.
