Guys. This is incredible. T-Mobile has invented time travel! My 6 pro is now shipping on the 1st BUT arriving on Oct 28th. I really hope they don't mean October 28th, 2022!!

Big fan of slow charging myself. I think it is a huge key to why most of my iOS devices, and Pixel 3 are still in really good condition. Heck, I only just replaced the battery in my iPhone 6 (known for being garbage) just last month.

I also rarely inductive charge as it is super wasteful and creates more heat which isn't ideal for saving batteries.

Longevity testing is something I enjoy doing :) .
That's awesome ..it's been my habit all the years ...low stress it haha

I think the culprit of the battery drain may be the older 5G modem they used in the P6. Had to run some errands and I'm noticing significantly faster drain since being on 5g, even when idle. Some of that is expected, but it seems a little excessive.

Still, it's 4pm here, been off the charger since 6 or so and battery is at 65% with medium use.
I've been off the charger since 530 or so and hammering away but on wifi except for a run outside with Android Auto for a little bit ..I'm at 45% now and I will be traveling to friends for dinner so not planning on charging the rest of the day ..

How is Android Auto? I use CarPlay on my iPhone all the time and it works well for me. I’m hoping Android Auto is comparable.

Yikes at the battery life. I think we all were under the impression that with Google making their own chip, they could work their magic like Apple. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. That battery life on the Pro is pretty terrible for a 5000 battery.

He highly recommended the 6 over the 6 Pro. Basically, that $300 price difference isn’t really worth it, IHO.
To be fair to google, their own chip allows them to do all their AI smarts. To be honest I’d take 4 hours or onscreen time and get the AI stuff.

I alternate between them both no issues and runs smoothly ...I usually have to disconnect one when I'm running the other for it to work as intended..I can't say enough of the Assistant on Pixel nothing beats it ..

the eagle has landed in Kinda Sunny which is kinda peach color and rose gold, love it. Did my dog test shot and am VERY happy with this. Edited it with the stock photos controls, and checked it at full size on my computer, and must say looks really good. Now to finish some work so I can play around some more.

Just watched a few videos about extending battery life and a consistent theme is turning off 5G. If your 5G signal is weak, it apparently drains the battery as it keeps searching/trying to connect. Perhaps that's why some people are having poor battery life so far. Just a thought.

This happen for anyone yet? or am I a poor sap that just will not get these ? :(

I did the same on my iPhone 13 Pro with MASSIVE improvements on basic battery drain.

Yes that’s what I have to do with my phones. All of the 5g capable ones drain fast otherwise because I have only 2 bars of 4g in the house. 3 bars of 5G on my street.

Loving the 6 pro so far, very fast and snappy! I have not had a problem with the FPS I just make sure to press on the screen harder than most FPS. I had the S21 Ultra and it would have problems a lot so much so I had to change to a pin password. Only app so far that is a problem is twitter, very laggy and choppy and annoying to look at so I switched to the mobil browser version and it works fine. Speakers on mine are super loud and screen is really bright, I find this screen easier on my eyes than my 13 pro is, not sure why. Tomorrow will be the first full day and we will see how the battery fares, though I will give it a week to settle.

In typical Google fashion, looks like my wife's Pixel 6 needs to go back because it's defective. It won't install the day 1 update. It just hangs on optimizing apps and never completes. Tried factoring resetting and still nothing. I shouldn't be surprised.

Great Scott!

Huge thanks @samcraig! Indirectly your video keyed me into a HUGE thing I didn't know about. I can link my phone to Apple Music, and now can use assistant on my pixel to play my library and existing playlists!

I was watching that video and poking through settings on my 3 ( most all of them are on this device too) when I stumbled on that section. Super pumped!!

BONUS!
My Google home mini (that came free with my pixel 2) is now linked too! I had no idea Apple music was an option. Thing has been sitting since they dropped Google music in favor of that YouTube music garbage.

My T-Mobile preorder originally said it would be delivered on 10/28......then the order updated online with no notifications to me to 11/12 to 11/18 delivery. Little while ago I got shipping notice the Pixel 6 Pro will be here Monday!

Yay congrats!

My pixel 6 pro has been delayed at Best Buy. I was expected to pick up yesterday (Thursday) but they sent an email today saying “ within a few days” and if I don’t receive it by the 11th then they’ll cancel the order.

Kinda bummed..about to buy a rotary phone instead

It took mine about 40 minutes for the update to complete.
