Watch looks and feels great. Fits my tiny wrists 🥲.
I had to swap the band out for the small one as it comes with the large. No idea how I changed the strap - it wasn't obvious how it worked and it took a while!

Some macro photos courtesy of the 7 pro!

Setting up now.

That phone really does look nice. I find it more aesthetically pleasing than the Apple Watch. However I have not worn a watch since the early 80's and that would not change now.

Yikes, I meant to type watch and not phone. I must have the 7 Pro on me mind today. :p

I've read that Gboard is better on iOS i.e. more customizations vs Gboard on Android. Did you try Gboard on your iPhone? Oh how's the battery holding up? We've read some that it's better and others saying it's the same as in the past.
I find Gboard and the iOS keyboard to be absolutely terrible compared to Gboard on android. I swipe to type most of the time and neither keyboard picks the right word a majority of the time. I don’t have that problem with Gboard for android. Also hate how the keyboard will randomly switch back to the iOS keyboard and I have to switch back to Gboard frequently.

I saw a display at Best Buy and while it looks nice it looks really small. I wish they would do a pro version that’s bigger. Not only for the fact that I’m a bigger dude and the small watch looks funny, but with the older and not very power efficient processor a bigger battery will be nice. I’m on the fence about buying. Probably will just use my Watch5 Pro when using the Pixel and Watch ultra when using my 14 PM.

Camera is now working but only after i removed the update so that was the culprit. Still not good. I'm sure another update will be coming to fix it.

Agree, they look nice and it's cool what they do but I just have no interest in wearing a watch.

Also this is my first 5G phone and I've heard you can turn 5G off but I don't see how in settings.

Took me a while to figure out how to turn off AOD.

SuperSaf comparison. The Pixel did well with HDR and zoom but beyond that the iPhone 14 Pro destroyed it. He was not impressed with Pixel’s poor portraits, red lens flare, and over processing.

Being able to do that may be carrier-dependent. Some were saying it could be turned off on the 4a 5G, but on my 4a 5G on Google Fi I don't have the option.

Oh, ok I was just wanting the option in case it drew too much battery since on my current job where the signal is weak at times.

It's been a few updates ago but I also tried Gboard on iOS. Did not like the experience compared to Android.. then again, I'm quite happy with the iOS keyboard

I'm having some annoying notification issues so far. Namely, WhatsApp. I'm not getting a sound or a pop up despite having both options enabled. I just get a notification icon at the top of the screen.

The Watch is also not getting notifications for WhatsApp (sound). But they do show as a notification.

In addition, since I turned the phone on I keep getting text messages from O2 telling me my phone is not compatible with visual voicemail. The message keeps coming through every 2 minutes and is driving me insane!!!

This is kind of OT as it relates to privacy. Many users say how when it comes to privacy that Apple is as clean as pure driven snow and that Google is the Devil Incarnate. Well I just found a company that trumps Google and that is Progressive Insurance in the US.

Today I was shopping around for some rates. I tried Geico and Progressive. Geico will give you a 10% discount if you allow them to track you. That's right they track you although they make it appear it is only when you are driving. If you want that discount, you download their App and you get tracked for that 10% discount.

Progressive takes it a step further. If you want insurance from them YOU WILL BE TRACKED...Period! You either have to use their App or plug in a device into your car if you are going to use it. I double and tripled checked and yup, you can't proceed to your quote unless you agree to be tracked.

You see there are companies out there even worse than Google! o_O

I expected that and that is no surprise, just like AOD will decrease battery life. The 7 Pro is now 1500 Nits which is almost double that of the 6 Pro. Apple offers a 2000 Nits screen on the 14 Pro series but their batteries offer better battery life.

Ugh.

Man if iOS didn't blow, I'd be so tempted for a 14 Pro Max with it's amazing battery life, bright and beautiful screen and smoothness.

I just can't get into the way iOS operates and none of the cool Google stuff like the news feed on the left screen and instant Google search by speaking to the phone, Siri sucks.

Google come on, give us an iPhone Pro quality build phone already, I'll pay more for it.

This is why I'm out on Google phones until the hardware seriously. I trust Google to patch over a lot of hardware cracks with software, but some things just require better hardware.

With that said, seems like reviews are overwhelmingly positive. But it’s what comes out in the next couple of months that’ll make or break the phones. Pixel 6 got good reviews at first as well and then all the bugs and hardware issues started to pile up. Eventually they squashed a lot of software bugs but hardware ones still remained. Let’s see if it’s better this time.

I wouldn't say iOS blows and that's coming from someone who has never owned an iPhone. Google's Call Screener is the end all be all for me. It has eliminated spam and robocalls on my phone. Apple doesn't offer that although supposedly there's a paid App that comes close but I refuse to pay for something that is already included with Android and Pixel phones.

The other issue I discovered is eSim's. Wow I am glad I did not bite on the 14 Pro Max and stayed with my 4 Android phones. I was the unfortunate recipient of Hurricane Ian and had NO power for almost 6 days. I had to rely on my Mobile Data which thankfully Mint Mobile offered free 5GB chunks for Hurricane victims if you ran out.

I was able to swap my Sim card between all four phones as the batteries depleted one by one. I couldn't see how in the world that would have been possible with a 100% eSim phone. I've read that Apple will allow for you to download your eSim via Satellites but that's not much help when switching between an iPhone and a Pixel phone.

But see I think a lot of this if not all of it has to do with software. I say that because I have owned two Huawei phones and they offer amazing battery life. I can leave my Huawei phone idling overnight and in the morning it's lost MAYBE 1% battery life. Everyone of my Pixel's drops between 8-12% overnight in idle mode.

A 5000a battery is the same for everyone. It has got to be the OS that is doing stuff in the background that eats away at the battery. That is just my theory of course. Heck even the Motorola phones with a similar 5000a battery can outdo a Pixel with the same battery size by double or triple the amount.
