That Hazel color is amazing. So glad I ordered that color as well.View attachment 2093946
Only set the phone up so far and am doing the buds now. Leaving watch til last so it is still in the box. The buds are a comfortable fit. I like the different tips to try out.
Currently doing a firmware update on them.
The phone feels exactly the same as the 6 Pro. I'll be honest, I'm not noticing any less of a curve, it feels pretty much the same to me. Not a major issue, as I'm used to it now but expected a slightly 'flatter' feel.
Phone hasn't got 'hot' once during set up. Just a little warm as you'd expect, so already a big improvement over the last gen. Typing this on the 7 pro and so pleased to be back on GBoard. iOS keyboard is utterly horrible in comparison.
It nice how all of your devices all color match! Very nicely done there my friend!View attachment 2093946

Haha it was intentional too 🤪.It nice how all of your devices all color match! Very nicely done there my friend!
yeah I saw the watch picture and phone and ear buds and KNEW it wasn't accidental!Haha it was intentional too 🤪.
I think if the phone wasn't accented with gold I'd have steered clear of a gold watch, but I actually really like the look of it!
I have already found having Google on my wrist VERY handy. Setting a timer and being able to view notifications and clear the ones I don't want (which also clears them from your phone) is very handy!

But see I think a lot of this if not all of it has to do with software. I say that because I have owned two Huawei phones and they offer amazing battery life. I can leave my Huawei phone idling overnight and in the morning it's lost MAYBE 1% battery life. Everyone of my Pixel's drops between 8-12% overnight in idle mode.
A 5000a battery is the same for everyone. It has got to be the OS that is doing stuff in the background that eats away at the battery. That is just my theory of course. Heck even the Motorola phones with a similar 5000a battery can outdo a Pixel with the same battery size by double or triple the amount.

And that's a fair take but the Huawei phones I have owned Honor 9X and the Huawei Mate SE were both budget phones. Those phones using budget parts and panels, still outperform Google's phones. The Motorola phones are considered budget devices as well. Those phones are typically under $200 and yet they outperform the Pixel's battery wise. There has got to be something in the software that is eating away at the battery.Oh I’m sure some of it is software. But if you read the article, it’s also just that Google takes the cheap route with hardware whenever possible. Instead of using the newest LTPO display that Samsung and Apple are using, they’re using a last gen version that’s less efficient and can’t drop refresh rate as much which will lead to more drain. Just like they continue to use last gen modems. Just like they use last gen FP sensors. Just like they use last gen storage type. Just like they use last gen charging speeds. I could go on and on.
To their credit, they do a lot of magic with software to make the most of this hardware. But I think a lot of people out there, especially those buying the Pro models, would love for them to just once use top of the line hardware to go with their top of the line software. I would switch over in a heartbeat. But Google have too much of an ego and insist on proving they can make mediocre hardware better with software.
Thank you, Tig.In the sunlight that black looks really cool, and that case, looks super cool too
yep...i see more color matching on the railing too! Nicely done! Some more photos of the Hazel colour plus watch and buds. I promise I'll stop spamming after this but it's been quiet considering ghe phones out today! I have been off work though hence my activity 🤭.
Also, it's nice that my battery widget now has more than just my phone in there ☺️.
First impressions of all of these devices are great. It feels like Google are building a nice little eco system.

As I mentioned earlier, is it mostly budget parts that is causing the excess battery drain? I'm still not convinced because we would first have to explain why is it that Pixel phones drops 8-12% battery drain overnight in idle mode with the screen turned off. We would also have to answer why is it that other budget phones under $200 are not experiencing this problem such as Huawei and Motorola phones? I don't believe Google AI software which is tailored to the Pixel phones runs on Motorola and other Android phones.100% agree.
It's so frustrating how Google cuts corners to save a penny here or there, when they could just source the current new gen parts, and yeah charge a bit higher price for the phone, but that's ok, as along as were getting top notch hardware matching the competition.
Makes me scratch my head why they do this? Do they just not care and are cheapskates? Or do they think people won't notice and try to skate by?
if I may ask... what battery widget is that? Also, it's nice that my battery widget now has more than just my phone in there
Sure. It's just the default Google one found by long pressing the home screen, tapping widgets and scrolling to 'Battery'. 👍🏻if I may ask... what battery widget is that?
I never explored that, and with my buds arriving tomorrow this will be quite useful! ThanksSure. It's just the default Google one found by long pressing the home screen, tapping widgets and scrolling to 'Battery'. 👍🏻
I am just comparing bare screen of P7P and P6P with White stone glass SP side by side.My screen protector just arrived. A cheap tempered glass one. It is awful. It has a circle cut out for the finger print scanner which was not advertised haha.
I will keep it on as I found my pixel 6 got hairline scratches on the screen within days of ownership.
