I got the regular 7, posted some pics earlier in the thread.

Seems pretty quick so far, battery may be slightly disappointing.
How have I missed these pics?!
Sad to hear re battery. Apparently the tests done by YT'ers showed the regular 7 getting better battery despite it being smaller, due to the lower res screen.

Speaking of battery. I've had great battery with the 7 Pro today. 20% left at 9:30pm and a screen on time of 6 hours 30 minutes. Very good!

The Watch has also fared better. I've had 2.5 hours of exercise tracking between tennis this morning and a dog walk this afternoon and the watch is still on 25%. So easily get me through the day today!

I am looking forward to my woven band arriving for my watch. Hopefully one day this week.

yeah but if you go those type of things you would never buy a new phone. I mean there are the same or similar issues reported in the iPhone threads and the Samsung threads.
The main point is all phones have people reporting issues after a new phone release. Has that stopped you from buying iPhones in the past?
No, but one thing that stands out is apple usually fixes it. Google hasn't with their previous phone that had the issue too.

You have 2 weeks to see if you would have those issues. I haven't had the issues you stated.
It didn't stop you from getting a iPhone with the known issues. But to each their own. Im not one to have phone wars or care what anybody chooses to use.

Today seems better, maybe I need to condition the battery. I also try not to charge to 100%, and try to keep my charging to in the car since it's always plugged in for Android Auto. Maybe I need to change my habits with this phone? It may not charge as much as the 4a 5G did while in the car, and I only get 30 minutes each way for my commute, with the phone playing podcasts through the radio.

I've found that in the last few days my battery has gotten much better with my 7 Pro. I don't get many calls over the weekend. I charged the battery last night around 8pm and at 4pm today I lost 6% just idling. None of my other Pixel phones get that kind of battery life. I will usually lose about 8-12% in just 9 hrs. Normally I would expect to drop about 20% in that same span.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t research before ordering the iPhone. Lol. But I’m also hesitant to get rid of my s22 ultra for the pixel.

I hear ya. I like Samsung Galaxy phones and I've had a handful, I just don't want to pay their price for them any longer. I'm a bargain shopper now lol. Not cheap, I can afford them I just want more bang for my buck.
I'll go midrange if the price is cheap and I have.

The price for the P7 worked great with trade in. Just not into paying big prices any longer and I'm a 1 phone guy. Never had multiples so not like I'm shelling out big bucks.

Just a few random shots of the pixel 7 pro.

I wanted a clear case so I could enjoy the lovely snow color so I bought an $8 one on Amazon and it’ll probably turn yellow in a few months, but it’s slim and fits well. Sometimes these generic clear TPU cases can be bulky and hideous. This one actually looks and feels great for $8.

Is it best to buy the 7 now to get the free buds to keep as a Xmas pressy?

Normally I’d wait until nearer the time, but getting free buds seems good deal and even if sell would be like getting £100 off. I’m in UK.

Being an iOS user, this is for a family member who’s Android, I’m not sure on the deals around these.

Deal runs out today, so need to decide. I’d miss return date if ordering now, and lose a few months warranty. Do you get 2 years for Pixel in UK buying direct from Google?

Also is the case direct from Google good enough? Definitely want a case, and happy to pay for Google one if it’s good. Also need a screen protector but presume it’s just Amazon for that.

Now that it’s been out a few days how is it on general? All phones have problems when released to the masses, but hopefully an be fixed with updates. I did read about the 6 and it’s problematic FPS though, so hopefully fixed in the 7?

Thanks

I'm seeing no issues with the P7P... FPS has been quick. No issues at all.. I would probably go with a case and screen protector from Amazon.. not sure if you want to go with the tempered glass. I went with a film just so I could keep micro scratches off the screen on my phone..

Yeah, my fingers are hovering over the order button again. Seems some say it's a downgrade from the s22 ultra though. That's why I've not ordered it mainly.

They exist but I'm not one of them. You are trying to imply I'm not and making up childish arguments with people here. I can't honestly believe you are allowed to do this on this site.
dude...those of us that have been here for a long time have seen all kinds of people come into the Alternative section like the sweaty palms guy who has been suspended for doing exactly what I described..... others do it are a little more subtle but their intentions are the same...

48 hours in, and I have to say I've seen zero bugs/issues/whatever with my P7P. They've kind of fixed every problem I've ever had with Pixel hardware with this generation as well.

Display is great, battery seems great, modem seems great, fps is surprisingly great, auto brightness seems great (finally!), and it's all just extremely smooth.

It's the same for me. The FPS on the 7 Pro is a VAST improvement over the same FPS on my Pixel 6. It's fast and accurate and Face Unlock works great although it has trouble in low light to unlock. The tempered glass screen protector I ordered on ebay has settled nicely and I am pretty happy with it.

Why don't you order the phone from Amazon who has a 30 day return policy with no restocking fee? Best Buy has a 14 day return policy and no restocking fee. Google however will hit you for $35 restocking fee if you return a phone even it it's defective. Try Amazon and BB.
