What's the easiest way to switch between the pixel 7 pro and the 14 pro max sim cards when needed these days? Esim makes it a bit more difficult. Att currently but looking to switch to T-Mobile soon.
It's a pain with eSIM. I tried one night on T-Mo and lost cell completely until the morning. Easiest way right now is to pay for two lines and use BlueBubbles and T-Mo digits on Android.

Received mine today. Initial impressions

Limegreen Looks amazing.
Great to hold. Love the compact size
Setup was easy. Got everything transferred from pixel 6
So far everything seems to work nice...it ran warm for a while during setup which is normal

No test on camera yet. Overall I'm quite happy so far.

I have had my Pixel 7 Pro for a few days now and im contemplating selling my iPhone 14 Pro as it is just sitting in the draw. Ill deffo give it a few more days of use and see what's what. Unfortunately I will have to wait for 1st Nov to claim my Pixel Watch so I haven't tried the watch experience out yet.

i switched back from the P7 Pro my 14 PM today through Verizon's website. They call it switching or activating a new phone on my existing number. It was esim to esim all they needed was the IMEI number for the 14 PM
I made sure I had internet access from my home wifi then deleted the esim on the P7 Pro and turned it off. Then turned on the 14 PM and added a new esim and it automatically activated through Verizon. Whole process took 10 minutes.
From what i've heard from the Marques dude on his YT channel is that it's much easier/quicker going from an Android phone to an iPhone and according to him, Apple made it not as easy switching from the iPhone to Android.

Here's where I see a few eSIM problems.

1) Are carriers going to charge each time you switch?

2) Are they going to limit free eSIM swaps? Mint Mobile (my carrier) limits 2 free then charges $3 per swap in a 12 month period.

3) Are carriers going to streamline the process and make it easier to switch even without an internet connection? Apple supposedly lets you switch by downloading your eSIM via satellites.

For me this is an annoyance because it takes me less than 10 secs to pullout the Sim card from one phone and insert it into another and I am up and running.

So happy with my Obsidian 7 Pro. Such a nice phone. My only complaint with Android in general is that I wish apps were a bit more polished. I wish apps would get rid of the background behind the home bar. It makes apps look so ugly. I wish all Android apps had the polish of Sync Pro, which is my favorite Android/Reddit app. A proper floating home bar and translucent status bar.
Have you tried a different Launcher such as Nova Launcher to see if that would make a difference? I have used them in the past and I can remove a lot of stuff on the screen that gets in my way. I can hide the upper menu bar where the time and battery are located and can pull them down when I want to see it. I can even remove the Google search bar.

I sent my 6 Pro off today but I am a little bit concerned...
The postage label that comes with the box to send to Google was scanned by the post office who said they weren't able to send it. The leaflets that came with the bag / box for me to send in did say not all post offices can send these.

They said I needed to take it to the depot in the next town. But I've only ever collected returned parcels from there... Not sent. Anyway I drove there as it's only 5 minutes and they did say they could sort it for me. I asked for a receipt to show I'd sent it and he said no it'll be on our system that we've sent. So you will be fine.

I paused but left as there were two guys behind the counter who were both telling me the same thing. But now I'm like... They could just keep it and I've got no record of it being sent...
Maybe I'm overthinking. But just seemed odd. I guess I'll just give it a few days and see if I get anything from Google to say they've received it (or not!).

And in other news I sold my Pixel 7 (bought to get the free buds) for £510 so sent that off this morning too. 😃.

Oh. And after I got back from the depot the box / bag came to return my broken Pixel 6... So need to send that now too but reluctant to return back to the depot until I know the 6 Pro goes ok! 😜

So far Verizon does not charge for switching devices. In the past they would send physical SIM cards feee of charge. So hopefully they will continue to play nice and not charge for device switching.

I agree with you on SIM cards being the easier way to switch phones. I wish Apple had not gone to eSims.
But as we have seen in the past many times, I feel the rest of the smartphone space will soon follow their lead.

I never crave an iPhone, but I always crave Android when I'm back on iOS.
🫢
my problem is...
when I am using my iPhone...my Android phones calls my name in a sad pathetic tone....

I slipped my micro sim into my P7
Never heard T Mobile mention a esim.

Google is making it easier now when you bring up connectivity settings. It lists the SIM card or download a eSim (electronic sim). Just need to have a Wi-Fi connection I believe.

eSIM setup was EASY for me - I'm on Fi. I imagine it's the way people HOPE it would work. I don't recall the EXACT process but it was quick. I do recall telling it what Google account had my Fi number, it signed in and downloaded the SIM, within seconds my old phone indicated it had no cell service.

Idk, seems easy to just stick your sim card in lol. That's all I did and shazam, working. Didn't call nobody. Didn't need to do anything else.
